‘Home Alone’ Star Macaulay Culkin Lives with Fiancée, 2 Sons & Animals – Rare Glimpse into Their Home Life

Now, at 43, Culkin loves being at home with his wife and cooking. He especially loves cooking when Song's mother visits them, as he enjoys caring for Song and her mother.

Aside from food, the pair share a common interest in their pets. They have three cats named Apple, Dude, and Santa Claws, a Shiba Inu dog, a parrot, and a few fish. Culkin admitted, "I tend to name all the animals as if I was a five-year-old."

While the couple were happy as just the two of them and their various pets, they knew they wanted to expand their family and started trying for a baby. Culkin joked that the couple practiced a lot. After years of being a party animal, Culkin has become a homebody, which is fine by Song, who is now the mother of both Culkin's children. Culkin and Song became parents for the first time with the birth of Dakota in April 2021. While Culkin had stepped back from Hollywood significantly by then, Song was still very much active in the industry.

However, when her son was ten months old, she revealed that she would do anything to be a good mom. Although she never thought her career would take a backseat to anything in her life, when her son was born, she knew that if that's what she had to do to be a good mom to him, she would.

Aside from being willing to take a step back from the spotlight, Song said even if she did star in something, her son would influence her choice. "I think being a parent changes a lot of your career choices. Because now I really think about where things are being shot [and] how long they're being shot for because everything revolves around my son," she clarified.

A year after their son was born, Culkin popped the question, and the couple became engaged. They lived a quiet and happy life with their pets and son and did not make headlines for quite some time.

However, in March this year, the couple surprised fans with the birth of their second child, Carson. While the announcement came in March, publications revealed that the couple had welcomed their son sometime before Christmas 2022.

The couple decided to keep their second son's birth private because they were so excited about the new addition to their family. They looked forward to celebrating him alone before sharing the news.

Although many Hollywood couples hire nannies to help them care for their children, Song and Culkin have decided not to do this. Instead, they are hands-on with their children and prefer to do everything themselves.

While the couple did not hire any help when their first son was born, Song's mother stayed with the couple and helped them navigate the first few months of being parents. Song's mother would care for her son while she was on set and even bring him to her so she could feed him and see him during the day.

Song termed the birth of her son and the subsequent months as "the fourth trimester" and advised her girlfriends who were pregnant to "Make sure you have help. Because your instinct is to want to do it all, and you physically can't."

She also said that during the first few weeks after their son was born, she and Culkin could not think of how to be kind to one another. Instead, they chose to be courteous.

The actress and her fiancé did not assign themselves duties and instead went on how they were feeling. If Song were putting their son to bed, Culkin would offer to feed the animals and make dinner, and vice versa.
