Following the end of her first marriage, Andie MacDowell found love again with her old flame from high school, Rhett Hartzog. Their marriage was short-lived; however, the latter revealed his model/actress wife was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

What started as a crush Rhett Hartzog had on Andie MacDowell in high school turned into him proposing years later after the two were reunited. Despite his ex-wife's fame, little is known about Rhett Hartzog; however, he shared he knew he was marrying a "good" woman.

Andie MacDowell came into the marriage with three children she welcomed during her first marriage to Paul Qualley. Both of Andie MacDowell's marriages ended in divorce, and the actress revealed there is "life after divorce."

Rhett and Andie met at Gaffney High School in South Carolina, and the actress's sister, Julia, reunited them in July 1999. "I had a secret crush on her in high school," Rhett revealed after popping the question.

The former couple tied the knot during a private ceremony attended by 450 of their closest friends and family members. Rhett said about his then-wife:

"She's such a good person, a great mother, and a good Christian. She's as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside."

Rhett and his ex-wife ended up going their separate ways after nearly three years of marriage, and a source revealed, "It's a painful and very private time."

In 2010, after the news broke that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were divorcing, Rhett's ex-wife offered the couple some advice and shared, "It's not an easy transition. I think that the sooner you can let go of any anger, the better off you are."

Andie added that after one resolves their "personal anger" during a divorce, they can find peace of mind. "There is life after divorce," Rhett's ex-wife said.

Andie and her first husband, Paul Qualley, said "I do" in 1986 and welcomed three children during their 13-year marriage. Their eldest son, Justin Qualley, was born the same year the former couple tied the knot.

During an interview, Andie revealed she never wanted to have kids. However, she ended up being "thankful" she did. Andie and Paul also share daughters, Rainey and Margaret Qualley.

In 2019, Rainey — an actress and singer — posed for the camera with her famous mom for Coach and turned to Instagram to share the sweet pictures of the mother-daughter duo.

Andie MacDowell's other daughter, Margaret, has also made a name for herself on the Hollywood acting scenes, as her career dates back years. During one of her more recent projects, Margaret shared the small screen with her mother in "Maid" and said it was a "great" experience.

Andie has enjoyed much success as an actress but revealed she often had to balance her career with being a mother. "My kids were always my priority, and being a mother was the most important aspect of my life. But I was competitive, and I did want to work, so I was always balancing both of those aspects of my life," Andie said.
