Matthew Perry and Kayti Edwards dated briefly in 2006 before she started working for him five years after, at the peak of his addiction. As someone who saw Perry's struggles behind the scenes, Edwards does not believe the actor died from drowning alone.

According to her, several red flags pointed to Perry's relapse in his last days, including a recent social media post mentioning his alter ego.

Edwards shared her thoughts on the unfortunate death of Perry and believes he had a prescription pill relapse in the weeks leading up to his passing. Although no illegal substances were found in Perry's home, there were prescription drugs for anxiety, depression, and COPD.

Nevertheless, the absence of painkillers does not mean Perry didn't consume any. "There are a lot of things that aren't adding up for me," Edwards said, highlighting that her ex couldn't have just drowned. She added:

"I think he might have taken pills in the week leading up to this. They said there were no prescription painkillers at the scene [...] he didn't leave drugs lying around. He was paranoid and would take them all [...]."

She claimed Matthew was also scared to die and strategically took his drugs but never had the power to stay sober completely.

Edwards also cited telltale signs that Perry may have relapsed, such as an Instagram post of him in a Jacuzzi with his alter ego name, Mattman. "That Mattman thing was not something he did when he was sober," she said. "Mattman would come out when he was not sober, and he felt kind of invincible."

Perry also enjoyed staying in water whenever he was intoxicated, be it in his pool or Jacuzzi. His neighbors even found him without clothes and high in his pool once while Edwards had to get him out. Matthew Perry's death certificate still has no cause of death.

Like Edwards, Perry's ex-fiance, Molly Hurwitz, is saddened by the actor's sudden death and hoped they would have a good relationship. Unfortunately, they had a falling out after he reportedly messaged a 19-year-old on a dating app.
