Donald Trump & Late Sister Maryanne Were Close before Falling Out in Years Leading to Her Death, Sources Claim
Donald Trump and his older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, were close for years. However, something happened that caused the siblings to drift apart before Barry's death earlier this week.

Trump and Barry, whom he reportedly once "trusted" and "admired," shared a close relationship for a while, but a source close to Trump recently revealed what happened to cause a rift in the siblings' relationship before Barry's death on Monday.
What Did Barry Say About Trump?
A source confirmed that Barry had been conversing with her niece, Mary Trump, when she revealed what she thought of her younger brother. Barry allegedly called Trump "cruel" and a "phony."

Mary secretly recorded and released the conversation, making it possible for Trump to hear what his sister said. A source close to Trump shared:
"As is the way it often is with thin-skinned Donald, when he heard about some of the things his older sister said about him to Mary Trump, he got bent out of shape, and they cooled the relationship."

However, the source also confirmed that this conversation came after the siblings had become closer in the years before the audio was released and that Trump had been proud of his sister's career.
How Did Barry Die?
Barry, who was 86, passed away in New York on Monday. She was in hospice care for cancer when she took her last breath. However, this was not former president Trump's first sibling to pass away.

Trump's younger brother, Robert, passed away at 71 in 2020. Trump and his brother were much closer than he and Barry, with Trump calling Robert his "best friend" in a statement released shortly after the latter's death.
