For many, Peter Krause is a familiar face on screen, having starred in beloved shows like "Parenthood" and "9-1-1." However, the Hollywood star maintains considerable privacy regarding his personal life, particularly his only son, Roman Krause.

Roman was born in 2001 to Peter and his former girlfriend, Christine King. His parents separated sometime after, and his dad found new love with Lauren Graham. The actress is said to have helped raise Roman while they all lived together.

Roman Krause's Mother: A Mystery

Like Roman, little is known about his mother beyond her relationship with his dad; however, she did make a few public appearances with Peter in the early 2000s. In May 2001, Christine accompanied Peter to the series premiere of HBO's "Six Feet Under."

The event took place at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California. Her next appearance would only come in January 2003 at the 60th Golden Globe Awards. Later that year, she walked the red carpet again with Peter at the Lili Claire Foundation 6th Annual Benefit Gala.

Roman Krause Played Baseball – His Dad Was Assistant Coach

Following the end of the comedy-drama series, "Parenthood," in 2015, Roman's father spoke about his experience on the show and how it opened more room for the pair to spend quality time, as he shared:

"'Parenthood' allowed me to spend time with him on a weekly basis, but also gave me a big chunk of time in the spring to assistant-coach his baseball team, and I got to be more involved with him because of the show."

Peter, who has rarely talked about Roman or being a parent, added that despite his "great appetite" as an actor, he still tried to maintain a work-life balance. "I try to balance my professional life with my real parenthood life, and this show provided that," he said.

Lauren Graham on Roman Krause

Lauren started dating Roman's father when they worked together on "Parenthood," which also starred Dax Shepard, Mae Whitman, and Ray Romano. The former couple played siblings Adam and Sarah Braverman in the show.

Peter shared that he met Lauren for the first time when they guest-starred on the '90s sitcom "Caroline in the City." Although they went public with their relationship, they mostly kept it low-key. Sadly, they separated in mid-2021 but only confirmed their breakup in 2022.

Earlier in 2021, during an interview on Ellen DeGeneres' titular show, Lauren gave a small glimpse into their home life during quarantine. The "Gilmore Girls" star said she was separated from her now-ex and Roman for nearly five months while filming "The Mighty Ducks."

"When I came home, the house was a little different. There were more piles, I would say," she shared, adding that Peter and Roman had "really bonded" during her time away. Lauren jokingly likened the pair's strengthened relationship to a "married couple."

"They were like, 'We don't do it that way anymore,'" she said. In her book, "Have I Told You This Already?" Lauren reflected on her connection with Roman, "I've never been a mom, but I have loved a child who lived in my house for a long time, who I hope will be a part of the rest of my life."
