In 2002, Whitman and Osment sparked dating rumors after starring in "The Jungle Book 2." Their alleged relationship was short-lived, although neither confirmed nor denied their romance.
Ten years later, Whitman famously dated musician Pigg. Pigg, a Nashville native, released his first album, "Demonstration," when he wasn't signed with a label. He came out with three more albums after joining RCA records.

Interestingly, Pigg covered the song "Girl on TV" with the "Parenthood" cast, in which his then-girlfriend starred. After their breakup, Whitman shared about working with him on set, revealing:
"We're still really good friends. He actually helped me write all the music that I've sung on this show so far. To have him on the show was pretty special."
In 2020, Whitman sparked dating rumors with "The Umbrella Academy" star Tiefenbach, but neither confirmed the news. Similarly, Tiefenbach has been acting since the '90s and appeared in "Jason X" and "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle."

In 2021, Whitman identified as pansexual, meaning she could fall in love with anyone regardless of gender.
