Suzanne Somers' family will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday without her for the very first time. Her daughter-in-law Caroline opened up about their grief in a candid interview.

Suzanne Somers' family has to celebrate Thanksgiving without their beloved matriarch for the very first time. Her daughter-in-law, Caroline, opened up about coping with the loss.

It's been a Somers family tradition to gather at the actress and her husband Alan Hamel's Palm Springs home every Thanksgiving. They spend at least a week together, enjoying each other's company amidst nature.

Now, they'll have to continue with the celebration without Suzanne physically present. "None of us can imagine it," said Caroline on celebrating the special day without her. "It's always been our family's most treasured holiday."

Despite Suzanne's absence, she will be with them in spirit through her delicious homemade recipes. Suzanne reportedly made the "world's best gravy" to go with some turkey.

To mark her exclusive interview, Caroline shared throwback photos of her and Suzanne celebrating Thanksgiving in the past. The doting daughter-in-law promised their family's supporters that they would "all be together keeping her traditions alive."

Suzanne Somers died of breast cancer, which had spread to her brain. She also suffered several other complications which led to her death, including hypertension and hydrocephalus.

The Somers family continues to navigate through life without their matriarch by their side. For now, honoring her during Thanksgiving is one way they plan to cope with their heartbreaking loss.
