Inside Hoda Kotb's Home with a White Interior Where She Raises 2 Kids Following Split with Her Partner
- Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman were engaged for two years before calling off their engagement.
- The pair now co-parent their two daughters amicably, with open communication and lots of compromise.
- Here is a look inside the house with a white interior where Hoda raises her gorgeous girl.
Hoda Kotb is a mom of two. She had her first daughter, Haley, via adoption in 2017. In 2019, the TV host adopted her second daughter, Hope. She shares her kids with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman.
Hoda and Joel announced their engagement in November 2019. Joel proposed to the TV host while they were enjoying an intimate dinner at the beach. The pair had been dating quietly before going public with their relationship in 2015.
After their engagement, the mom of two had hoped to exchange vows with Joel at a destination wedding in November 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed their plans. The couple had talked about having their wedding in Mexico, where Joel proposed.
Later, Hoda speculated that their wedding would be held in New York by a beach during the summer. She said the wedding would be a bit more intimate than she had anticipated since many people couldn't fly to New York due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Her home is a vibrant hub due to the open-plan living room and kitchen.
As much as the pandemic forced Hoda and Joel to postpone their wedding, they were glad it gave them an opportunity to bond with their daughters. Hoda, who never knew she could get that much time with the kids, enjoyed every minute of it.
Hoda had already chosen Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" as their wedding song, but it never got to be played as the nuptials were canceled.
Unfortunately, the good times were followed by a challenging period. In January 2022, Hoda announced that she and her fiancé were parting ways. The two broke up but remained co-parents to Hope and Haley. The TV host said she and Joel spent the holidays praying and engaging in meaningful talk, and eventually deciding that they were better off as friends and parents than an engaged couple:
"So we decided that we are going to start this new year and begin it kind of on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children, and as friends."
Hoda insisted that nothing awful happened between her and Joel; their relationship was only meant to last a season, and now they had changed course in life. She described Joel as a great guy and a kind and loving person with whom she will continue being good parents to their two lovely kids.
In 2023, Hoda said she loved her parenting journey with Joel. She admitted that if Joel hadn't been by her side from the start, she would have been too afraid to start motherhood alone. Now, the two have figured out co-parenting.
Sometimes, Joel will have the girls on Sundays and her on Saturdays, and at other times, they switch the days. Joel takes their daughters out to do something fun as she relaxes, giving them a healthy mix. "He's a great dad," she gushed.
The two are flexible, which allows them to accommodate shifting schedules and demands. Open communication also keeps them balanced as it ensures they can fix things so that everyone's needs are met.
Hoda stays with her girls at a four-bedroom waterfront property on Long Island. She also has a cozy apartment in New York City where she raises her beautiful daughters amid split and co-parenting with Joel.

The "Today" star took a break from co-hosting earlier in 2023 when her daughter, Hope, was admitted to the ICU for an ongoing condition. Hoda is blessed with two beautiful homes where she could have cooped up as her daughter recovered.
The TV host, who went back to work later, had previously revealed that her apartment in New York City was getting a little chaotic thanks to her daughters. Her kitchen showcased this chaos as cabinet doors were open.
Still, her home was a vibrant hub due to the open-plan living room and kitchen. The kitchen and living room are decorated with white and muted cream color schemes, giving it a glowing appearance.
Hoda also once shared a peek of her bedroom.
Hoda's family enjoys special moments in the living room and kitchen. A photo shared on Thanksgiving in 2023 showcases a living room and kitchen with white cabinets, carpets, and creamy sofas. The walls are painted white, and one side hosts gorgeous picture frames of the family. On another wall, a black poster, which is written in white, "I love you to the moon and back," is displayed.
Other furniture in the living room and kitchen are glass tables and chairs, as well as white wooden tables and chairs where the kids sit as they eat. The kids' presence is made evident in these areas with their paintings and drawings displayed on the fridge and freezer.
The open-plan setting is also cozy due to the soft linen couch with matching cushions that sit near rustic wooden kitchen cupboards. Hoda made sure to take a picture with her girls on these comfortable white sofas during Halloween in 2023.
The TV host can also sit with her daughters on a geometric-print rug on the floor, which is in front of two white wooden tables beneath the TV.
Haley and Hope once set up a pretend ice cream shop by their dining room window. They used a wooden table and white-framed wooden chairs. They also put up pink and yellow notes as signs on the windows.
Going down the house's hallway, there's a twisty staircase and some framed photos hanging on the walls. The kids were recently photographed putting up Christmas decorations on a wide window with white panels.
The lights made the white home even shine brighter, and Hoda's oldest daughter posed near a Christmas tree. The home's other rooms are also well-kept. One of Hoda's kids' had a nursery with a duck-egg blue wooden crib.
Haley and Hope have their own playroom. Hoda lets them personalize it with paintings hung on a string, colorful balloons, a whiteboard, and various toys scattered around. Sometimes, she sits on a brown sofa as she watches her daughters draw on the floor.
This room also has white wooden chairs and tables placed near a vintage carpet. On one wall, there's a flat-screen TV under a ring light where the family joined Zoom calls during the pandemic.
Hoda also once shared a peek of her bedroom while watching "Maid in Manhattan" from her bed. The photo revealed cream walls and a wooden dresser.
Hoda has created a beautiful home where her daughters enjoy living. In addition, she said in 2021 that she had plans to adopt another child. Unfortunately, the pandemic derailed her dreams, but she is still open to expanding her family.
The TV host has also not given up on romance. She understands her past and is open to having another kid, new love, and making room for other people in her magnificent home.
