Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson Grieves Loss of ‘Fighter’ Sister Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell at 29
Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's older sister, Anna, has died at the tender age of 29. The actress penned a touching tribute to her sibling, whom she loved dearly.
After Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's older sister Anna passed away, the actress made sure to celebrate the wonderful life that she lived. She wrote a lengthy message on Instagram that looked back on Anna's fight against cancer.
The child star admitted that her tribute to Anna was the post she wished she never had to make. She wished her sister could make it out of her cancer battle, especially given she left behind two children.
"Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family we all know she is at peace now. I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken," Alana admitted.
She added that it was difficult for her to watch Anna fight cancer, as it hasn't been an easy battle. Ultimately, she's proud of her sister for being a "fighter."
Alana is relieved that she was with the rest of her family at home when Anna took her last breath. The actress continued to speak to her late sister through her message, saying how nice it would have been for her to see her graduate college.
Now that Anna is no longer with them, Alana vows to ensure her legacy lives on forever. She also promised to celebrate Anna's birthday yearly, as if nothing changed. "You hit me hard with his one Anna but i know your in a better place now and pain free forever [sic]," she ended her touching tribute.
Mama June also announced her daughter Anna's death on Instagram. "She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her," she wrote.
Anna Marie left behind two children, Katelyn and Kylee. Throughout the past couple of months, she openly shared her cancer journey with her followers, both the good and bad.
