Couple Who Couldn’t Get Pregnant for Years Adopt Baby Girl, Return Home with Own Triplets a Few Months Later
A couple decided to adopt after not being able to get pregnant for more than five years. Soon after they adopted their son, things got crazy when they discovered they were pregnant with triplets.
Zac Wolfe went through a traumatic car accident at 19. It was a rough period, but he eventually learned to adapt. The accident paralyzed Zac. However, he made sure to strengthen himself, and he soon learned how to navigate his wheelchair and improve his overall mobility.
Twelve years after the accident, Zac faces the biggest challenge of all: he becomes a dad of four all at once. "All of a sudden, things got crazy," he said.
He and his wife, Brittney, adopted a 3-month-old baby named Charlie. Shortly after, they were surprised to discover that they were going to be parents to triplets, too.
Brittney, a registered nurse, fell pregnant with two girls and two boys, conceived through embryos from 2011 and 2021, respectively. The embryos were donated by anonymous couples to the National Embryo Donation Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Zac and Brittney were high school friends. However, their relationship blossomed when Brittney visited Zac at the rehabilitation center after his accident.
They eventually married in 2015 and were eager to start a family. However, they faced several fertility challenges. Zac and Brittney opted for adoption and embryo donation. These were their last options after their unsuccessful attempts with intrauterine insemination and IVF.
Their journey to parenthood was never easy. However, their fate changed when a neighbor introduced them to a colleague whose daughter was considering adoption.
Around the same time, Brittney underwent embryo donation, with three embryos selected for transfer. Her second attempt resulted in the successful implantation of all three embryos.
They discovered they were expecting triplets while they were in the process of adopting Charlie. It brought immense joy to both Zac and Brittney, who couldn't be happier to finally fulfill a dream.
"We thought we might never have one child, let alone four. You should never give up hope," Zac shared. Their triplets, Knox, Noa, and Navie, were born in October 2023.
Ultimately, the family feels blessed by the arrival of their four bundles of joy. It has been a challenge to raise four kids at once, but they are more than happy to have the "best Christmas gift" this year.
