Tragically, the home that was engulfed in flames had five children in it. There were boys aged 13, 11, 5, and 2, and also a four-year-old girl. The 11-year-old was only visiting, while the other four children were siblings.
According to the Bullhead City Police Department, the children were alone in the house, while the father was out for about two and a half hours doing grocery shopping and getting Christmas gifts. The kids were in the upstairs bedroom of the duplex home, and the fire is suspected to have started downstairs, leaving the children stuck on the second floor.
The police received a call about the fire at about 4:54 p.m. By 4:59 p.m., Bullhead City Fire Units were at the scene. At 5:03 p.m., the majority of the fire was extinguished.

The neighbors tried their best to help extinguish the fire, but the smoke was already too strong and choking everyone. The neighbors knew children lived there, but they were not certain if they were home.
However, everyone who witnessed the smoke coming out of the house did everything they could to help put out the deadly fire. There were about a dozen men with hoses trying to put out the flames. One of the neighbors and witnesses said they screamed at the top of their lungs, trying to figure out if anyone was in the house, but heard nothing.

The children had a grandfather who worked at the Bullhead City Fire Department, so fire investigators from the Lake Havasu City Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) were called in to help out at the scene.
Therefore, all the first responders are doing their best to get to the bottom of what could have started the fire. Any evidence that could help determine the root of the fatal flames has been collected. The Bullhead City Fire Department is grateful for the extra pair of hands they have received and for making this investigation a top priority.

The names of the children who were killed in the fire have not yet been revealed; however, the authorities are asking for anyone who might have witnessed anything to come forward to the Bullhead City Police Department to speak to the detectives or call (928) 763-9200.
Some Facebook users who read about what happened to the five children had questions about the incident. Many asked where the kid's mother was, while others thought it was a bit suspicious that an 11 and 13-year-old did not know how to get out of the house. "Just saying something isn't right about this fire," remarked a commenter
However, some of the Facebook users' suspicions sparked a debate, and other netizens defended the story. One commenter wrote that not all children lived with their mothers. Another clarified that there are many unknown details about the fire, so it was unfair to make assumptions when there was still information missing about the tragic accident.

The commenter urged people to send their condolences and stop with the judgment. "This poor family needs support in more ways than one. If you can't do that, move on," the commenter added.
The residents of Bullhead City are still shaken from the tragedy but are thankful to everyone who tried to help. The victim's home has been encircled with flowers and stuffed animals as the whole community grieves the kids. The investigation is still ongoing, but we send our condolences to the families of the victims involved.
