New Mom, 18, Found Dead at Residence Close to Her Home — A Witness Reveals What He Saw at 1:15 AM

An 18-year-old girl was found dead at a residence down the road from her home. A neighbor provided details about what they saw on the day her life was taken.

In tragic news, the lifeless body of a teenage mom was found at a residence located close to where the victim lived (Lawrenceville, Georgia). Shania Green, a loving daughter, niece, sister, and granddaughter, had been enjoying herself at a house party when multiple gunshots were fired from outside the place.

Green was then hit by a stray bullet, which resulted in her death on December 29, 2023. The 18-year-old's aunt, Sade Long, created a GoFundMe fundraiser to plead with the public to financially assist with donations where they can in order to help Green's mother and siblings cover the funeral and memorial costs for their dearly missed family member.

Although police officials are still in search of the assailant or assailants, a news outlet reported that neighbors in Gwinnett County (the area where Green resided) gave accounts of what they heard and saw. They confirmed that they heard gunshots being fired in the early a.ms.

One witness, who gave specifics, explained, "I heard gunshots around 1:15 in the morning and then when I looked out the window I saw a bunch of kids trying to get into their cars and leave the subdivision."

From the GoFundMe account, it was learned that Green had a seven-month-old son, whom she adored. While describing the kind of person she was, and how she would spend her time, Long expressed, "On most days you could find her lovingly taking care of her 7-month-old son or spending time with family."

News of Green's demise has left many heartbroken. Outside of her bereaved family, the senior class of her school, Central Gwinnett High School, shared a tear-jerking dedication to her, which expressed their devastation of losing a light and beacon in their community. Some of the touching words read: "She was a kind soul who had a tremendous impact on those around her from the abundant love she always gave out."

The senior's Instagram account also asked people to show support and donate what they could to Green's family via their GoFundMe page, and the Gwinnett County police have urged the public to come forward with any information they may have on the case.
