The couple were found after Soto was set to go to a hospital to induce labor on Saturday night as, according to a news outlet, she was a week past her due date.

Police officials working on the case have been left at a loss. On this, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus stated, "It's a very, very perplexing crime scene. Detectives are looking at this as a possible murder, but we're not sure. We can't say for sure what we have."

Guerra and Soto's bodies were discovered after an unnamed source alerted the family that the car had been found in the parking lot of an apartment complex in San Antonio. The family then alerted the police, who traveled to the crime scene and believed that the bodies had most likely been there for three or four days.

Naturally, the late youngster's family is devastated. Soto's grandmother, Rachel, expressed her and her family's desire for answers, and the teen's heartbroken mom, Gloria Cordova, devastatingly divulged, "Savannah was so, so happy because she was going to be a mommy. It breaks my heart."

According to Cordova, her daughter was so excited about her baby that she had already finished creating the nursery and was looking forward to giving birth with her mom by her side. Cordova said the last time she had seen Soto was on Friday at her apartment.

After failing to hear from Soto hours before she was supposed to show up for her labor induction, Cordova decided to go check on her, but she wasn't home. She then went to the hospital, and there was still no sign of her teenage daughter. The panicked mom then filed a report with the police, who then issued a CLEAR (Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue) Alert.

On Christmas Eve, Cordova shared the news about her daughter and a picture of her on social media and asked for help from the public. Her exact statement read, "My daughter is missing...If you see her please reach out to me and lmk...I am worried about her safety."

After this post, Soto's family and friends gathered where she was last seen and organized their own search for her and Guerra on Christmas night where they drove around the area looking for them.
