Woman Was Told She May Never Have Children, Hears Doctor Gasps as She Checks Ultrasound
- Taylah Tudehope-Glachan and her husband, Sean, tried to have a baby for two years.
- After many failed attempts, the couple turned to IVF.
- Taylah finally fell pregnant but was shocked at what she discovered at her first ultrasound appointment.
Taylah Tudehope-Glachan and her husband, Sean, went through a long and excruciating journey of trying to conceive. From a young age, Taylah was told that having children would not be easy.
She was facing tough odds as she was diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Taylah shared her fertility journey on social media. She explained that after she and her husband got married, they wanted to expand their family as soon as possible.
So, to get her body prepared for the process, she went to the doctor and got off her contraceptive pill. However, this started the uphill battle of trying to conceive. Taylah explained that going off her pill led to an irregular cycle, which had doctors putting her on strong medication that would help her to ovulate.
After going through different dosages of medication, she finally ovulated but still did not fall pregnant. A year went by of her trying everything to conceive, but eventually, the couple turned to IVF. The 28-year-old had her eggs extracted and mixed with her husband's sperm, and once the eggs were fertilized, she had the embryo implanted in her uterus.
The couple patiently waited two long weeks to find out if they were pregnant. Taylah even chose for the news to be left on voicemail so she could share the moment with Sean. After a good pep talk, the two gained the courage to listen to the results and had their jaws on the floor when the doctor congratulated them on their pregnancy.
While Taylah and Sean were excited to finally be pregnant after two years of trying, they were still skeptical about telling their family. They contemplated only sharing the news after their eight-week check-up because they still had lingering thoughts of a false pregnancy.
But the couple concluded that whatever happened, they would still want to share the moment with their loved ones. To finally tell their family they were expecting was something that Taylah and her husband had been longing to do for a long time. "It was the most special moment," she said.
When the day for the eight-week scan came, Sean and his wife were excited to see their healthy baby. The sonographer squeezed the blue gel on her belly, and Taylah noticed her run the wand on her belly but quickly lifted it.
At first, the school teacher did not notice anything on the big screen in front of her, but when the sonographer went in for the second time, she saw multiple dots on her uterus. She did not know what that meant, but judging from the sonographer's shock, she knew something was up. Finally, the sonographer said, 'I don't know how, but there are four'."

The couple went through a rollercoaster of emotions. The kids all had their own placentas, so the couple could listen to each of their heartbeats. Taylah was immediately sent to several specialists and had many check-ups to ensure she had a smooth pregnancy.

When the couple had to tell their family about their quadruplets, everyone was in disbelief, but soon, the reality of becoming a family of six hit. The couple only lived in a two-bedroom home, but luckily, Sean is a handyman and started working on renovating the home to fit their growing family.
Things started to get more exciting when Sean and Taylah discovered the sex of their four babies. They shared a video of their reaction on Instagram, revealing that they were expecting three boys and a girl.
The pregnancy took a toll on Taylah's body. She had to spend seven weeks in hospital before the babies were born. However, on December 7, 2023, the couple welcomed their children, Daisy, Archie, Billy, and Charlie.
Taylah and Sean looked forward to having their babies at home and continue to share more updates as they navigate their new life as instant parents of four!
