"Chrisley Knows Best" star and wife of Todd Chrisley, Julie Chrisley, turned 51 years old and spent her birthday in prison. She is currently serving a five-year sentence at a federal penitentiary in Kentucky.

Julie reported to the facility in January of last year after she and her husband were sentenced to a combined duration of 19 years for tax fraud and evasion. Her initial sentence was reduced from seven years to five, and Todd's sentence was changed from twelve years to ten.

Though prison is not exactly the ideal place for Julie to celebrate her birthday, there is hope for an appeal, and the Chrisley family attorney, Alex Little, says that Julie remains positive amid the tough times, "Julie is strong and optimistic...she's hopeful that with the appeal, this will be the last birthday that she does spend on bars."

Last year in November, Julie's daughter, Savannah Chrisley, posted an update on the status of her parents' appeal. In the video, she excitedly shared, "I got a call this morning and the Appeal's Court has granted our oral arguments....it is one step closer to getting mom and dad home...it's just amazing."

Savannah then went on to say that the oral arguments will take place in March of this year and spoke about what a huge accomplishment the request being granted is. She said it's a huge milestone because approximately only "6%" of cases get the opportunity.

Although Savannah and her family members will get to argue why their parents should be released, the date has now been pushed to April.
