‘Fake Emotions’: Riley Keough & Priscilla Presley Put On a United Front after Long Battle over Lisa Marie’s Fortune
Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter, Riley Keough, recently smiled for the press during the Emmy Awards. However, social media users are convinced that the two are only putting up a show after battling over Priscilla's daughter and Riley's mom, Lisa Marie Presley's, estate.
Priscilla Presley joined Riley Keough and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, during the Emmy Awards ceremony. The three looked stunning in all-black ensembles and smiled for the cameras.
A short clip of the three made rounds on the internet and attracted fans and onlookers alike who shared their sentiments. Many believe that Priscilla and Riley only put up a civil front for the public.
"Priscilla and Riley look so uncomfortable," one person said, while another called out their "fake emotions." A third person noticed their seemingly okay facade but did not buy the act. In another post, one Instagram user pointed out how Priscilla looked "cozy" as if she "didn't try to take Riley's inheritance."
"I mean after Priscilla tried to pull what she did on Riley I'd never stand next to her again - grandmother or not," another social media user wrote.

Meanwhile, commenters under another post of them on the red carpet believed that the "lovely" family was genuinely on good terms and claimed the late Elvis Presley would have been so proud of his granddaughter. "She is one of a kind," another person added.
In August 2023, Riley shared her thoughts about the inheritance feud that went on between her and her grandmother, noting that they are on better terms. Admittedly, there were negative feelings that eventually faded. "Things with Grandma will be happy," she said. "They've never not been happy."

The legal battle between the two women began in January 2023, after Lisa Marie's passing. Priscilla contested her daughter's will, claiming that it may have been unauthentic and invalid.
In the will, Lisa Marie named her eldest daughter daughter and late son, Benjamin Keough, as her successor co-trustees. Lisa Marie's kids were added to her will in a 2016 amendment that removed Priscilla from the trust.

Priscilla alleged that her daughter's signature in the amendment "appears inconsistent with her usual and customary signature" and that the document was not notarized.
In November 2023, Judge Lynn Scaduto approved the settlement agreement, noting that Priscilla Presley would receive a $1 million lump-sum payment from her daughter's life insurance. The ruling also allowed Priscilla to be buried near Elvis. Meanwhile, Riley has been the sole trustee of Lisa Marie's estate since June.
