Everyone needs help and hopes that there is a fantastic soul to show a little kindness when they do. When Tawny Nelson was stranded in the middle of the road, she was desperate and exhausted. However, a kind man came along and restored her faith in humanity.

The single mother of four shared her story with KTVU news anchor Frank Somerville, who was moved by it and posted it on his Facebook page. Let's take a look at Nelson's sad story and how she got help from an old stranger.

NELSON'S SAD STORY

Nelson, a single mother of four beautiful daughters, ages nine, five, two, and six weeks at the moment, had her life turned upside down when her boyfriend walked out on her. She was forced to cater to her girls without assistance from anyone.

The woman had to rely on an old rundown truck for transportation. Nelson avoided using the vehicle frequently, as it had numerous malfunctioning parts like the alternator belt. But one evening in 2016, she desperately needed to visit the grocery store.

Nelson put her daughters in the truck and drove to the nearest Winn Dixie. After purchasing what the family needed and checking out, the mom of four and her daughters headed back to the truck.

But when they got to the parking lot, it was dark and raining heavily. To make matters worse, the truck refused to start. Nelson told the News anchor:

"One of my girls accidentally left a light on. My battery was dead. My phone was also disconnected. I have no family to speak of and was on my own."

In total frustration, Nelson looked under the hood hoping that the problem was from a loose wire, but it was definitely a dead battery. She decided to ask other customers for help, but none gave her a listening ear, and most acted like she did not exist.

At that point, Nelson was frustrated. Her little girls were already feeling hungry, tired, and restless. She was overcome with worry and immediately burst into tears. In a matter of seconds, Nelson got a glimmer of hope: The woman got a knock on the passenger window.

HELP ARRIVES

An elderly man stood outside Nelson's truck. He had a bad limp and a cane, but he was there to help. First, the man gave the stranded woman a plate of chicken strips, biscuits, and some water bottles. Then he said to her:

"Feed those babies and yourself, young lady. I have a tow truck on the way and my wife will be here shortly to take y'all home."

The man's wife arrived and took Nelson and her kids home, with the tow truck following behind. It would still be amazing if the older man's kind act stopped there, but the good man went even further.

ANOTHER KIND ACT

The following day, he returned to Nelson's house with a mechanic who replaced the dead battery and damaged alternator. After the mechanic was done, the 74-year-old man left.

Nelson asked the mechanic about the bill, but he explained that the older man had paid for everything. The only payment the kind stranger needed from Nelson was for her to keep being an amazing mom to her kids and never give up.

When the mom of four heard those words, her heart melted. She cried harder than she had ever cried and felt grateful. Nelson was never able to thank the older man, but she hoped that one day, she would show such kindness to someone else.
