Tennis Legend Chris Evert Battles Cancer with Ex-husband by Her Side: Photo & Details
In a sweet Instagram post, tennis icon Chris Evert shared a tender moment with her ex-husband, Andy Mill. He has shown her an overwhelming amount of support throughout her cancer battle.
Dressed casually in a plain tank top, cap, and dark shades, Evert offered a subtle smile towards Mill, who affectionately placed one arm around her. More than a mere photograph, her post showed the resilience, support, and enduring friendship they have amidst her cancer diagnosis.
Evert, a name known throughout the sports industry, has faced her cancer diagnosis with the same tenacity that defined her career. First diagnosed in 2021, Evert navigated her health challenges with openness and courage.
However, in a 2023 update, she disclosed the return of her cancer. "While this is a diagnosis I never wanted to hear, I once again feel fortunate it was caught early," she said. The discovery of cancer cells in the same pelvic region prompted immediate action. "All cells were removed, and I have begun another round of chemotherapy," Evert shared.
On January 19, 2024, she marked a significant milestone in her treatment journey, sharing a photo of her third round of chemotherapy. "Early detection is crucial! It doesn’t hurt to have a good support system like I do," she wrote on Instagram, urging her followers to stay vigilant about their health and the importance of regular check-ups.

Evert receives her support from Mill, her ex-husband, who has been a pillar of strength despite their divorce nearly two decades ago. They continue to share a good relationship, with the athlete even greeting him for his birthday recently. Last year, before the cancer had progressed, she begun her chemo treatment, for which MIll went with her and held her hand in every session.
Her eldest son, Alex, also gave his support and moved in to take care of his mom. He even curated a workout plan to help her sweat out the toxins.
Evert and Mill, once an athletic power couple, have navigated the aftermath of their marriage with grace and a shared commitment to their family, despite their divorce nearly two decades ago. They tied the knot in 1987, a second for both of them, and ended their union in 2006.

The couple revealed their decision to divorce was mutual and that their priority remained with their three sons, Alexander Mill, Nicholas Mill, and Colton Mill, who were then all aged 15 and below. All of her boys, like herself, played tennis in their younger years.
