My Man Thought He Was Smart Saving His Lover's Number under a Man's Name but I Outplayed Him

A TikToker detailed how she dealt with the "slick" way her boyfriend at the time had tried to hide that he was cheating on her with another woman who had "no shame.”

In a captivating TikTok "Story Time," Lynee Monae details the cunning tactics her ex-boyfriend employed to conceal his infidelity, and how she humorously exposed his lies.

Lynee Monae had suspected her boyfriend at the time of cheating, but she needed some kind of evidence. Then the thought of going through his phone steered her in the right direction.

“Go through that phone and look through the male names. Why? I don’t know, but I did it,” Monae said of the revelation.

She discovered that he had saved the number of a woman named Ashley under a man's name. “Now to have a girl name under a male name and still be calling her by her actual name is crazy,” Monae humorously explained. “You didn’t alert the others? You didn’t tell them that they are under investigation?”

Without saying a word about her discovery, she changed the name back. “How are we supposed to know who is calling us if you going to have it under the wrong name, silly,” Monae’s cinematic detail of events continued.

Meanwhile, her ex kept up the trustworthy front by leaving his phone out right next to her, even when he walked off to do something. But then, Monae's patience was rewarded when Ashley called and her name, instead of the name her boyfriend had changed it to, showed on the screen.

“Patience is a virtue, okay. Because before you knew it, it was lights, camera, action!” she said before delving into details.

“The surround sound of disbelief on this man’s face when Ashley’s name popped up on the phone was worth waiting for,” she mused of her ex’s reaction.

Monae encouraged him to answer Ashley's call, but he decided to deny he knew anyone called Ashley. “So I told him, ‘I just did you a favor and changed it back. Because how are you going to know who is actually calling if you keep saving numbers under the wrong name. It can be a state of emergency. It can be serious. You don’t know who is calling. I’m trying to help you out,’” she humorously continued.

Her ex’s next move was unexpected and didn’t help his cause. He threw the phone “clean over the balcony.”

“I didn’t do nothing except go down there and get it,” Monae said, adding what she thought about Ashley’s perseverance and the phone that was still ringing. “Why would you let that phone ring almost until the voicemail picks up? I would NEVER, okay. Do you have no shame? Sometimes I only let the phone ring once and then I hang up.”

However, Monae was not going to pass up on talking to Ashley, so she answered the phone. When Ashley asked who it was on the other end of the line, Monae gladly informed her:

“I was somebody’s girlfriend, but now I’m just a girl with a stranger’s phone. Now I don’t mean to sound crazy. I hope I don’t sound ridiculous, but I don’t know this man.”

Ashley then identified herself and told Monae that she didn’t know he was in a relationship with anyone, but Monae quickly and sarcastically corrected her by saying, “he’s not.”

Somehow Ashley took that as a go-ahead to tell Monae how she met her now ex-boyfriend, how long they’ve been talking, what they got up to when together. Monae then decided she quickly had to put a stop to the ill-fated conversation’s heading.

“I had to stop her because this has absolutely nothing to do with me. These sound like your problems now. I told her it sounded like she’s dealing with a lot, and I wished her the best in their future endeavors, because offloading to a complete stranger about your problems is crazy, okay,” she elaborated.

She was also in a bit of a “tussle and bustle” with her ex while talking to Ashley on his phone and trying to get into her car to leave.

“Now the doors are locked and the windows rolled up tightly because this man is in full sprint behind the car while I'm driving around the neighborhood in my first therapy session with Ashley,” Monae said.

Since her major is in Sociology, Monae mused she doesn't have the credentials to give Ashley any therapy, and while her ex probably had a chance to catch up with Monae if he had a car, that opportunity had long gone.

“Word on the street is he’s still chasing behind that car till this day, the only problem is, I’m too far gone baby, you’ll never catch up,” Monae closed off with a broad smile on her face.
