At the Power of Love Gala, country star Blake Shelton's new look and casual style sparked mixed reactions. Gwen Stefani shared a video of their fun evening, highlighting their close bond. In an interview at the event, Shelton also discussed taking a backseat on Mother's Day, praising Stefani's sons' efforts.

Last Friday, famous artist and TV personality Blake Shelton, 47, graced the Power of Love Gala with his presence. The "Boys 'Round Here" singer was accompanied by his musical superstar wife Gwen Stefani, 54.

For the event, Shelton opted for a simple yet suave look, wearing blue denim jeans, brown crocodile-patterned dress shoes, a black shirt, and a matching black blazer.
On the other hand, his beloved Mrs. decided to go full glam with her ensemble, adorning a glamorous, sparkly silver dress that had fringe detailing and a side slit. She paired her look with matching silver heels and a bright red lip.

Photos of the good-looking couple prompted a flurry of comments from social media users who expressed their opinions on how they looked, especially where Shelton was concerned. In addition to praising him, many highlighted his noticeably different appearance.

"Blake looks good. Did he lose weight [?]" pondered a fan while another echoed the same sentiment and added that Shelton looks "better [than he has] in quite awhile! ❤️" "Hubby's hot," wrote another admirer. Similarly, someone else swooned, "Blake looks gorgeous ✊❤️."

Comments about Shelton potentially having lost weight are not completely without substantiation as just over two months ago, the musician looked slightly different. Images of him performing at the Warner Music Nashville Lunch in February show him looking portlier than he does now.

Amid the praise and compliments made by the majority, there were a few criticisms from some people. "It's obviously not possible to have proper length in jeans with 50 million in the bank," a user sarcastically remarked.
Another unimpressed onlooker commented, "Would it kill him to dress up and not wear jeans for once 😒." Highlighting the difference in dress code between Shelton and Stefani further, another critic rhetorically asked, "They were going to the same event?"

Despite what a few critics had to say, the adoration for Shelton far outweighed the harsh comments he received about his appearance. When it came to giving the former "The Voice" judge his props, fans were not the only ones to show him some love.

Shelton's doting wife Stefani took to social media to post a video of her and Shelton enjoying their time at the prestigious event. Her caption made mention of her dashing husband. "such a great time last night at Keep Memory Alive's 27th Annual Power of Love in Las Vegas supporting Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and honoring Blake Shelton 🤍," penned Stefani.
Like Stefani, Shelton's hairstylist and groomer, Michelle deMilt, also dedicated a post to him, sharing a carousel of images showing Shelton posing for a picture and performing on stage. deMilt also shared a couple's picture of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton from the event.

While at the event, Shelton also took a moment to conduct a brief interview with a media outlet. An interviewer asked him whether or not he had planned on spoiling Stefani on Mother's Day to which he responded, "I don’t have to because her sons have been, uh, incredible. I've watched it over the years, like—even times where I've been like, 'Hey guys, you know, tomorrow—' They’re like, Oh, no, no, we've already thought about it.'"
Although Shelton jokingly spoke about having been able to "take a back seat" when it came to celebrating his wife on Mother's Day, this does not mean that he is not a doting husband.
In fact, he has always shown his love and appreciation for the "Hollaback Girl" songstress, like when he gifted her beautiful purple flowers in honor of their popular song "Purple Irises."
The duo had done a photoshoot together to create artwork for the song earlier this year, adorning matching denim looks for the pictures. Out of the two, Stefani's "cowgirl" ensemble elicited varied reactions from the public.

For the photo shoot, "The Sweet Escape" singer posed on a couch and was dressed in a bikini top paired with a denim jumpsuit, complemented by brown platform sandals and a statement necklace. Meanwhile, Shelton, who also adorned a denim look, posed casually while strumming a guitar.
"Why does her bra have to be hanging out?! She's so tacky! Dress like an adult with children, if you want kids to look up to you, you need some class!" one person wrote. "You're so overtaken that you can't see this for yourself. Would you dress like this?" commented another.

On the other hand, another Instagram follower had a different take on Stefani's ensemble. "This is a tamed down style of the brand she has carried through her entire career [...] She's not for everyone," the person noted.
In addition to the "Purple Irises" artwork, which was released on February 9, 2024, the duo also shared a behind-the-scenes video from their photo shoot where fans got a more in-depth look at Stefani's outfit.
Adding to the allure of her Instagram-shared look is the success of the song it represents. The collaborative musical project climbed to the top of the music charts in February.
Fans voted in a Billboard poll, emphatically choosing the couple's duet over releases from notable artists, including Usher, who dazzled at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, and country sensation Kacey Musgraves.
Stefani and Shelton also performed "Purple Irises" at the Super Bowl TikTok Tailgate earlier this year, thrilling fans just before the big game on Sunday, February 11. The hit song is not the first time the couple has worked together as they also have other collaborations, including hits like "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere."
