'Disaster': Viewers Slam Jimmy Fallon for 'Horrible' Performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Some netizens who watched or saw Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade felt Jimmy Fallon's presence at the event fell short. One person even speculated whether the celebrity was still drunk from the day before, judging by his behavior during the occasion.
Jimmy Fallon was one of the celebrities attending Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He also performed a song from his new star-studded holiday album during his eleventh appearance at the event. However, some netizens criticized his outfit, singing performance, and behavior.

On November 28, 2024, "The Tonight Show" host appeared alongside "Today" host Al Roker to discuss his new holiday album, which features artists like The Roots, Ariana Grande, and Justin Timberlake. Fallon spoke with Roker while shielding himself from the rain under a see-through umbrella.
He wore dark sunglasses, a black coat, and red, black, and green Christmas-themed pants, and black shoes. At one point, Fallon also performed a song from his comedy holiday album, "Holiday Seasoning."
A TikTok user shared a short clip of the celebrity, still wearing his sunglasses, appearing to lip-sync alongside members of The Roots. They were joined by dancers and performers dressed in Santa Claus outfits and festive attire.
Fans who saw clips of Fallon's interview and performance focused on his attire and presence at the event. One X user remarked, "It's raining at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Why is Jimmy Fallon wearing these sunglasses lol."

Criticizing the "Taxi" actor, one viewer added, "Jimmy Fallon is so embarrassing." "Such second hand embarrassment for Jimmy Fallon," another viewer commented, while someone who didn't seem to be a fan wrote, "Jimmy Fallon showing that he's the most mediocre person on television. #MacysThanksgivingDayParade."
"Jimmy Fallon is insufferable," another person complained. Meanwhile, others focused on his singing, with one viewer responding to a complaint about the parade, saying, "Not only that, the lip synching [sic] was terrible. Jimmy Fallon was a disaster."

Not all the feedback was negative. One person wrote, "Jimmy Fallon looks cool in sunglasses! Good seeing him and The Roots perform in the rain at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024!" Yet, others found his antics amusing, with one fan noting, "Jimmy Fallon is doing the most at this parade but it's hilarious too."
An impressed Facebook user who didn't know Fallon could sing remarked, "No idea that Jimmy sang until today!" Another netizen praised his performance, writing, "U slayed it with ur song!! Get well soon! [sic]"
Despite getting some praise for his singing, a TikToker highlighted an embarrassing moment when Fallon kept singing and talking after his microphone had been turned off. Fallon's new album was released on November 1, 2024.
He announced the release via Instagram with a photo of himself in a recording studio. The star captioned the post, "I'm so excited and happy and thankful. What's your favorite song/feature artist? You can stream it now at the link in my bio. #HolidaySeasoning."
In the post carousel, the star explained that the album celebrates all the holidays his fans enjoy. He promised to create more songs for a follow-up album called "Holiday Seasonings."
Fallon concluded his message by thanking and naming everyone involved in the album's creation. On the day of the album's release, Deanna Giulietti revealed all the stars who performed at the Thanksgiving parade.
In addition to Fallon and The Roots, performers included T-Pain, Ariana Madix, Idina Menzel, Dan + Shay, Chloë, Dasha, Walker Hayes, Rachel Platten, Bishop Briggs, The Temptations, The War and Treaty, Natti Natasha, Lea Salonga, and more.
Sadly, Fallon's embarrassing moments at the parade were plenty. A TikTok user shared another clip poking fun at the star, asking, "Is it just me or is Jimmy Fallon still drunk from Black Out Wednesday at the Parade??" The video showed the television personality joking with Savannah Guthrie about his sunglasses.
In the clip, Fallon humorously claimed he wore the sunglasses because of the sun. He then had an awkward moment where he moved his microphone back and forth between himself and a bystander before giving up and singing Harry Belafonte's "Jump In the Line."
"Today" host Hoda Kotb attempted to get a fan to ask him a question, but he couldn't hear her. Instead, he explained he couldn't hear them and shouted, "Happy Thanksgiving Day, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Hanukkah, and I love you guys!"

Despite the criticism, Jimmy Fallon appeared in good spirits, sharing an Instagram Story of himself preparing to join a parade float with The Roots. This year marked the 98th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The event featured 34 floats, seven wheeled "balloonicles," and 22 giant balloons parading along the 2.5-mile route. It also included 700 clowns, 11 marching bands, 5,000 volunteers, and 10 performance groups.
Fifty million people worldwide were expected to tune into NBC for the show. Hosts Roker, Kotb, and Guthrie returned as hosts entertaining viewers and attendees with musical and dance numbers from Broadway productions like "Hell's Kitchen," "Outsiders," and "Death Becomes Her."
