The TV personality was spotted in New York — a rare public appearance that comes amid ongoing speculation about her health and months after she sparked concern with her behavior during a July event.

A Troubling Summer Still Haunts the Star

The sighting marks one of Ray's few appearances since a troubling summer that left fans worried about her well-being. Back in July, she drew attention for her unusual behavior during a meet-and-greet event promoting her gin brand, Staple Gin.

According to the Daily Mail, the promotional event at Broadway Spirits in Manhattan drew only about 20 attendees, despite tickets being priced at $50 each. Fans who showed up reportedly waited in the 80-degree heat for the TV personality, who arrived 20 minutes late but appeared in good spirits.

"She got oddly close to some people, hugging them in a way that seemed overly familiar as she posed for photos," an insider said to the publication. "You know how Drew Barrymore acts with celebrity guests on her talk show — just like that."

The event, which was supposed to last two hours, wrapped up in less than one. Organizers eventually began inviting passersby into the store to fill the empty line, according to the insider.

Concern Mounts over Her Health and Well-Being

The underwhelming turnout and Ray's unusual mannerisms fueled fresh concern about the star, who had been mostly out of the public eye since ending her daytime talk show in 2023. Those worries were not new.

In May, just months before the July event, Ray had alarmed fans after posting a Mother's Day tribute video in which her speech sounded slurred and her demeanor appeared off. "Those close to Rachael are so concerned," another insider told the publication at the time. "She has shut people out and lives a very secluded life."

The source added, "Rachael was always so meticulous about her appearance, and it is very telling and concerning that she now just doesn't care. It is indicative of a bigger issue."

The Emmy-winning host has had health challenges, including undergoing vocal cord surgery in 2009. At the time, her representative, Charlie Dougiello, shared that the most challenging part of recovery for her had been resting her voice for a week or two.

While her career has slowed since stepping away from daily television, Ray remains one of the most recognizable names in American food media — and her reemergence has reignited curiosity and hope among fans who have long followed her journey from the kitchen to stardom.
