Now, as investigators comb through the wreckage for answers, the children's grieving mother is stepping forward with alarming questions, casting doubt on the father's story and demanding accountability in the face of unimaginable loss.

A Family Destroyed

On November 28, the Kenosha Police Department released a heartbreaking account of the fire that tore through a residential building.

According to their statement, police and fire crews were dispatched at 10:39 p.m. on Thanksgiving night, responding to a blaze at a building located in the 5200 block of 43rd Avenue. Though first responders worked swiftly to contain the flames, their efforts came tragically too late.

At the scene, ten-year-old Rylee Levi Kannin and his nine-year-old brother, Connor Liam Kannin, were found dead. Their seven-year-old sister, Alena Ellen Kannin, was airlifted to a nearby medical facility in a desperate attempt to save her, but she later succumbed to her injuries.

Their father survived the fire and was treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation, while other affected neighborhood families have received assistance from the Disaster Response Team.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Authorities are urging anyone with information to step forward. Tips can be directed to Detective Marty Howard at 262-605-5284, or to Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.

A Mother's Anguish

A family has been torn apart, and Jourdan Feasby is left grieving the unimaginable. That morning, she had spent time with her three children before sending them to their father's home, following their regular custody arrangement. What followed, she never could have predicted.

Speaking to CBS58, Feasby shared that she still struggles to believe what has happened. "I was so excited for Christmas shopping but now it's just caskets," she said. "They brought all of this light that now I don't have."

She revealed that her ex-partner, the children's father, has since been staying with family members after receiving treatment for smoke inhalation. But Feasby isn't just mourning, she's questioning everything.

"You can sit here and say all you want to that I would've done this, this, and this, but when you're in the situation, it's completely different," she told the outlet. "But I will tell you that if I was in that situation, without a doubt, my kids would've been out or I would've been dead with them."

While she awaits the outcome of the official investigation, she admits that for now, all she feels is loneliness, because her whole world has disappeared.

In her conversation with the outlet, Feasby urged other parents to keep their children close, especially this Christmas, because she never will again.

Online Post Raises Alarming Questions

Days after the tragedy, Feasby was no longer just mourning. She started speaking out with determination, refusing to stay silent until the full truth comes to light.

In an emotional and pointed Facebook post dated December 1, she shared screenshots containing details and thoughts on what she was told about the night her children died.

In one of her screenshots, she revealed that the children's father allegedly removed the smoke detectors in his apartment himself because he was a smoker.

"Ask yourself this... if your kids were 80% burned and up and you don't have a burn or a singed hair or not even the smoke soot on your face," she continued, trailing off and letting the chilling question linger.

According to the account the father gave her, he said he woke up to see and smell smoke. Their daughter had reportedly been sleeping in the same bed.

Feasby questioned that logic, "Wouldn't you have grabbed your daughter out of the bed and then go to the boys room and all go out see about the smoke?"

She continued breaking down his version of events, saying that even if he had gone downstairs to investigate, it still should have meant returning for the children.

But instead, she said, he told her that after seeing the kitchen in flames, he ran outside, screaming for help and knocking on neighbors' doors.

"Would you run outside? You wouldn't call 911? You wouldn't grab the kids first?" Feasby asked. After alerting others, he allegedly went back in, but by then, the fire had spread and the smoke forced him to run out, coughing.

Feasby made it clear that she does not believe that explanation. "If you had tried to save them you would have burns! You would have done dirt on you!" she wrote.

She also cast doubt on his sister's involvement. Both had told her they attempted to go back into the home for the children, but Feasby pointed out that the sister, who suffers from asthma, was never checked for smoke inhalation.

In another screenshot, Feasby directly addressed fellow mothers, asking if they would believe the same version of events she was told. She ended with a heartbreaking plea: if you see fire, grab your children.

A Pledge for the Truth

Feasby says she has been accused of lying by members of her children's father's family. But she insists she's not afraid of their words. Her focus is clear. She will not stop asking questions, and she will continue working alongside detectives to uncover what really happened that night.

She has her own theory: that the father wasn't even home when the fire started.

In the same post, Feasby called on anyone in the area who may have Ring or cellphone camera footage to come forward. The truth may lie in the details caught on video surveillance.

"I'm not bashing his parenting I'm stating a truth that was told from the source," she wrote, adding that although she could post clips of her children complaining about their father, she won't because that's not the point.

Her goal is to expose what truly happened, and she says the story she was told simply doesn't add up.

Feasby ended her post with a heartbreaking apology to her children for placing them in negligent hands. And in the caption, she made a vow:

"They will get justice. I have enough time on my hands now. I'll spend every second investigating myself and finding answers!"
