'I'm Not a Dirty Person': Elton John Breaks Silence After Fans Drag Him for Sharing a Glimpse Inside His Home Video
Legendary singer Elton John may have millions in the bank, but even he isn't safe from fans nitpicking the state of his kitchen. Now, the beloved star is fighting back — with hot pink gloves and a bottle of oven cleaner in hand.
After receiving unexpected backlash over a now-viral holiday video, 78-year-old Sir Elton John took to Instagram to clear the air — and his oven — in a series of playful Reels that prove he's not just fabulous, he's also flawless when it comes to hygiene.
And if you thought the superstar would take it lying down? Think again. He's scrubbing, he's singing, and he's absolutely not letting this slide.
It all started innocently enough. Late last month, John shared a festive video from his lavish kitchen — only for eagle-eyed followers to zoom in on one glaring detail: his allegedly grimy oven window.
So naturally, the man behind "Rocket Man" and "Tiny Dancer" issued a glamorous rebuttal.
"Hello people, it's Elton John here," he began, seated solemnly in the same kitchen. "A couple of weeks ago, I did some videos in this kitchen about how crazy 'Step Into Christmas' was driving me, and it got an incredible response, which I was quite startled about."
What startled him more? The backlash. "A lot of the response was kind of negative about how dirty my oven was. My oven door, my oven window," he continuned.
Then, with his signature flair, he declared, "I can assure you, I don't have anything dirty in this house. I've never had anything dirty, I'm not a dirty person. So, to prove I don't have anything that's dirty, I'm going to do something to show you."
Cue part two of the now-iconic cleaning saga.
Wearing hot pink gloves lined with red faux fur, the "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" singer gets down to business, responding to one particularly cheeky fan who commented,"Nice to see even Elton's oven needs cleaning before Christmas. My oven glass needs an oven doctor too 😂."
His caption alongside the clip was short and sharp, reading, "Don't think your comments go unnoticed."
The moment he swings open the oven door, "Step Into Christmas" blares in the background — again — as he furiously spritzes cleaner onto the glass.
Letting out a dramatic, exaggerated scream, he scrubs away while mock-singing, "La, la, la, la, la. Scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub," in a hilarious attempt to drown out the relentless holiday anthem.
Before slamming the door shut, he triumphantly announces, "Look, I've got the cleanest oven window in Windsor!" The music cuts. John exhales dramatically.

All this oven drama stemmed from the singer's original holiday-themed post, in which he opened drawers and cabinets around his kitchen — only to be met with the relentless sounds of "Step Into Christmas" each time.
"If you can't escape it, you might as well 'Step Into Christmas!' Who's ready?" he captioned the chaotic video.
While many fans were delighted by the behind-the-scenes chaos, others weren't as impressed. "Think your oven needs a good clean 🤢," one wrote.
Still, some loved the unexpected relatability. "I love his house is normal, and his oven door needs a clean inside😂," a fan said.
"I love the slight implication that without the music, you Elton are just scared of your kitchen ❤️," another joked. "Brilliant. This somehow made me feel human," shared a third.
