Sportscaster Christina Chambers Found Dead at Home — Here's What Happened
Details surrounding the sudden deaths of a former Birmingham sportscaster and another person are emerging as police continue their investigation in Hoover.
Police are investigating the deaths of Christina Chambers and another individual inside a home in Hoover, Alabama, on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025.
The incident has drawn attention due to Chambers's public role and the circumstances, which are still under review.
A relative found two adults unresponsive in the home and called police around 9 a.m. on December 16, WBRC News reported, citing Hoover Police. The victims were Chambers and her husband.
When officers arrived, they found both had suffered gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded and pronounced them dead at the scene. A three-year-old child was also inside the home. Police confirmed the child was unharmed.
Authorities initially withheld the names of those involved while they worked to confirm identities and notify next of kin.
The former WBRC reporter joined the station in 2015 and regularly appeared on "Sideline," the Friday night high school football program. She also contributed to coverage of the Mercedes Marathon.
She stepped away from her full-time role in 2021 but returned as a freelance contributor during the 2025 football season.
Before that, she reported for WAKA in Montgomery, WLTZ NBC38 in Columbus, Georgia, and Comcast Sports Southeast in Atlanta, covering Auburn University athletics and high school sports. She also freelanced for Raycom Media's Alabama high school championship coverage.
From 2021 until early 2025, she taught broadcast journalism at Thompson High School. Most recently, she worked in corporate communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
Police later said they are investigating the case as a possible murder-suicide.
