She dazzled fans with her charm on "Dragon's Den" and twirled her way into hearts on "Strictly Come Dancing" — but behind the scenes, business mogul and TV favorite Sara Davies was grappling with a personal battle that had nothing to do with boardrooms or ballroom shoes.

Now, the 41-year-old has stunned fans with a dramatic transformation, shedding over three stone — but not, she insists, to chase perfection. The real reason? A frightening wake-up call from her doctor that left her no choice but to overhaul her lifestyle from the ground up.

"I spent the end of last year cutting out sugar," she revealed to Prima in a candid interview from October 2024. "And when I say cutting out sugar, I don't just mean I stopped eating chocolate and cake. I stopped drinking fruit juice or eating fruit and cut down my alcohol intake."

The results were dramatic — and immediate.

"A lot of people say to me, 'What's your trick? How are you doing it?'" she continued. "And I think they just want some kind of magic bullet, but it really was just lifestyle changes."

Before her transformation, Davies admitted she'd been a "yo-yo dieter," hoping that landing a high-profile gig on "Dragon's Den" back in 2019 would push her into slimming down. But it didn't.

Still, she wasn't phased by her reflection.

"I'm a big personality and I'm no different when I'm three dress sizes smaller — it really doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is the health side of it," she revealed.

In a brutally honest interview with The Mirror, the mother of two peeled back the curtain on the terrifying medical reality that finally jolted her into action.

"I had gestational diabetes in both my pregnancies," she shared. "And as I was leaving the hospital, the nurse told me, 'If you don't get a handle on your weight, you will have type 2 diabetes in 10 years.'"

Every year since that warning, Davies had been diligently monitoring her blood glucose levels. But in late 2023, she got the chilling news she had feared.

Her doctor didn't mince words: her numbers were skyrocketing toward pre-diabetic territory.

"It was the kick up the bum I needed," she admitted.

Alongside her strict sugar purge, Davies ramped up her running — a habit she picked up during lockdown. But this time, she had a goal: a personal best in the Great North Run half-marathon.

She had taken on the iconic race before, but the experience left her deflated by just how punishing it had been. Crossing the finish line after hours of effort was not the triumph she had hoped for.

"It took me three hours to do it. So last year I was on a mission to get a really good GNR time and kept up the running and the training," she shared.

The pounds began to fall off, but the scale wasn't what mattered most. Now, more than three stone lighter, Davies says she's never felt better — and never more herself.

"Body positivity has never been my issue," she said. "I don't want to be a size six or eight. I'm a very happy size 14. I've got big stretch marks and my mum tum, but it's part of being human, and I know I'm healthy, and that's what matters to me."
