In the wake of Brooklyn Peltz Beckham's public accusations against his parents, particularly his mother, Victoria Beckham, social media quickly became the battleground.

While the Beckhams have remained silent, attention has shifted to Victoria's Instagram, where commenters have flooded the comments sections of her recent posts with reactions — from support to speculation and outright criticism.

One netizen typed, "I think we finally discovered Victoria's Secret," while another commented, "She's not saying a thing, not blocking her social media as the Peltz Beckham yet people have the nerve to come here and make an statement out of themselves [sic]."

"People's funny, taking sides on completely strangers as if Brooklyn and Nicola need that [sic]," they continued. However, another person added harshly, "Brooklyn stood up for his wife — something your cheating husband would never do."

The comments came in response to a lengthy and emotional social media statement Brooklyn shared, in which he claimed to have endured years of manipulation by his parents.

Some weighed in with more sympathetic tones. One shared, "You must have your reasons.. mother always sense when something's not right. My mother saved me from mine.. and was grateful for that... but be the bigger person. Don't respond to Brooklyn's statement. He's still your son [sic]."

Several netizens also turned their focus to Brooklyn's actions. "Everyone read this. Because it is going to be the absolute truth. Brooklyn is going to deeply regret this public humiliation of his mother as soon as him and wifey split up [sic]," one person wrote.

"And Victoria as any of us mothers will have no choice but to accept forgive and take back [sic]. Moms are not perfect but neither are sons❤️," they continued.

Others expressed doubt about Brooklyn's statements altogether, as one person declared, "Brooklyns statement is odd [sic]. I don't believe a single word of it."

A final individual speculated, "Brooklyn has thrown you all under the bus. For what it's worth i don't think he wrote all that himself and I think he is being influenced [sic]. It seems strange to me that he only started feeling this way after he met her. Keep your heads held high ❤️."

Brooklyn Speaks Out Against the Beckhams

The comments came in response to a lengthy and emotional social media statement Brooklyn shared, in which he claimed to have endured years of manipulation by his parents.

He began by saying he had remained silent for years, hoping to keep family matters private. However, according to him, his parents continued to go to the press — leaving him with no option but to speak out. The 26-year-old wrote:

"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

Brooklyn alleged that his parents had controlled media narratives about the family for as long as he could remember, claiming their public displays were performative and inauthentic.

He also accused them of feeding false stories to the press in order to maintain a public façade — often at the expense of others. According to his statement, the tension escalated around his wedding to his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

The eldest Beckham son claimed that his mother had promised to design Nicola's dress but cancelled at the last minute, leaving the bride-to-be scrambling to find a new one.

He further claimed that members of his family told him Nicola was "not blood" and "not family," and that even his brothers were sent to attack him online before cutting ties.

He also alleged that his parents pressured him to sign away the rights to his name ahead of the wedding, which he refused — a decision he said affected their payday and permanently changed how they treated him.

During the wedding planning, Brooklyn said his mother called him "evil" after he and Nicola chose to seat both of their grandmothers at the main table.

He also recalled being humiliated during the reception, when singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage for what was meant to be a planned first dance with Nicola — only to be met instead by his mother. Brooklyn alleged:

"She [Victoria] danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness [...]."

He further claimed that members of his family told him Nicola was "not blood" and "not family," and that even his brothers were sent to attack him online before cutting ties.

His mother, he alleged, repeatedly invited women from his past to events in a way that felt deliberately disrespectful to Nicola. Additionally, Brooklyn addressed claims that his wife controlled him.

"The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards," he wrote. "I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life." He added that distancing himself from the family had brought him peace for the first time.

The Wedding That Wasn't What It Seemed

However, Brooklyn's allegations about the wedding planning and the night itself stand in stark contrast to how the event was portrayed publicly at the time. Following their nuptials in April 2022, British Vogue painted a very different picture of the wedding and its lead-up.

For example, Nicola's custom Valentino gown was said to have been a year in the making, with numerous trips to the fashion house's atelier in Rome for fittings.

She told the magazine that she had originally intended to include heavy embellishments but ultimately chose a minimalist design that featured an open back, an 11-foot train, and a delicate lace veil.

Furthermore, without Nicola's knowledge, her mother had even commissioned an embroidered message stitched inside the dress in baby-blue thread. "Nicola, my heart. You are me, I am you," the message read in part. Nicola said of the touching detail:

"I'm happy she showed that to me after the ceremony, because I just burst into tears."

As for the reception, it was described as star-studded and elaborate, complete with live music, a jazz quartet, and multiple tented areas overlooking the ocean.

Notably, British Vogue reported that singer Marc Anthony performed for the couple's first dance to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love," followed by Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" for the father-daughter moment.

The magazine also noted that Brooklyn invited Victoria to dance during Anthony's set, with the 26-year-old's father and sister, David and Harper Beckham, eventually joining them. There was no mention of discomfort, hijacked moments, or inappropriate behaviour.

This portrayal — a harmonious evening filled with sentiment and spectacle — now stands at odds with Brooklyn Peltz Beckham's detailed and distressing version of events.

As the divide between what was shared publicly and what has now come to light grows wider, so too does the public scrutiny, with social media proving to be a mirror for the family's unravelled image.
