Kelly Osbourne recently made a public appearance in honor of her late father. But by the end of the night, whispers about her appearance were louder than the applause inside the arena.

What unfolded behind the scenes has now prompted members of her inner circle to grow concerned.

A Moment That Said More Than Words

Grammy night was always going to be emotional for the Osbourne family. Ozzy was being honored in the In Memoriam segment, and Kelly stood in a sleeveless black gown, visibly fighting to hold herself together beside her brother Jack and her mother Sharon.

But while the tribute moved audiences to tears, it was Kelly's physical appearance that set off a separate, more unsettling conversation.

Dressed in a skintight, sleeveless black gown, her thin arms and petite silhouette stood out under the bright lights. Those in attendance and viewers at home took notice.

At the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party, someone who has known Kelly for years got close enough to see what the cameras had only hinted at. The reaction was immediate and visceral.

"She looks even skinnier in person; it was scary. It just does not look normal. I have known her for years, and she has never looked like this before, not even close," a person who was in attendance told the Daily Mail.

What struck this person most was not just her size but the effect it had on her face: "The first thing I noticed is how her face looks hollow, making her cheekbones stand out. When she talks, it looks different, like weird. She is gorgeous, but being that thin is hard."

The insider shared that Kelly's appearance became a major topic of conversation at the event, as guests privately discussed her weight and questioned whether her health might be at risk.

Growing Concern Behind the Scenes

The insider claimed that the chatter was impossible to ignore, remarking, "I don't think God intended people to be that thin."

A second source close to Kelly painted a careful picture of where things stand among those around her. Nobody is staging an intervention, but nobody is looking away either. Friends have clocked the change and are keeping a close eye.

They also know better than to say anything directly. Kelly, by all accounts, would not take it well, and she has made no secret of the fact that public commentary on her body upsets her, even as she refuses to show it rattles her.

What those around her do acknowledge, according to the source, is that her father's death has hit her hard. She has spent her entire life managing her weight, and losing her father has added pressure that is showing up in how she looks and how she is holding up.

What Kelly Has Said

Kelly has been open about her weight journey for years. The 85 pounds she lost after gastric sleeve surgery in 2018 transformed her publicly, and she has talked about overshooting her goal after pregnancy weight loss in 2022 before pulling back.

She has flatly denied using Ozempic or similar medications to achieve her slimmer figure, addressing it directly when speculation peaked in April 2024.

Her emotional words about grief and the public reaction to her appearance were explored in greater detail in our earlier coverage below.

During Kelly's appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards, the reality star openly acknowledged that she was still struggling six months after the death of her father, Ozzy.

The 41-year-old attended the ceremony on February 1, where the late rock icon was honoured with a tribute performance. While speaking on the red carpet, Kelly gave a rare and candid update on her wellbeing, offering insight into how the loss continues to shape her daily life:

"To be honest with you, I won't lie, people usually say, 'I'm great.' I'm not doing so great. It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life, but I'm getting through and we're doing everything we can to try and just live in his legacy and be happy."

The interviewer acknowledged the impact of Ozzy's death, noting that he would be celebrated during the ceremony. Kelly responded by highlighting the importance of the tribute for her entire family, particularly her mother.

"It's so lovely that his peers and this community that he loved so much is going to be acknowledging him and his work tonight. And it's just as much about my mom as it is my dad, and we're here to support her through it," she said.

When asked whether the loss had brought the family closer, Kelly confirmed that it had reshaped their bond. "I mean, we're closer now than we ever have been. We're all we have, and we've experienced the biggest loss we will ever go through," she shared.

Her remarks quickly circulated online, where many people praised her honesty about grief. One person said, "This is such a great and honest reply, I feel ya babe. ❤️‍🩹"

Another shared, "Losing a parent you adore is unimaginably painful. The grief is forever and you never stop missing them, you just learn to live without them 😢." A third commented, "My heart goes out to her and her whole family! You are never the same after someone you love so much dies."

Images from the Grammys led some to speculate about her health, including suggestions that an eating disorder could be involved.

At the same time, attention also turned to Kelly's physical appearance at the event, with footage and photos from the red carpet prompting renewed discussion about her health.

The reality star walked the Grammy carpet in a fitted, sleeveless gown, with her platinum-blonde hair styled straight, standing alongside her family during interviews.

Several comments expressed concern. One person commented, "She's suffering, I hope she's being looked after and gets happy and healthy." Another typed, "It doesn't matter what she does to her own body she will never be pretty enough, for herself [sic]. It's a shame. I hope she finds peace."

A third wrote, "Kelly need [sic] help ... OMG..." while another added, "For sure she now looks just like her mom."

The reaction followed similar scrutiny after Kelly posted a photo taken on the day of the ceremony showing her hands resting on her very small waist. Images from the Grammys led some to speculate about her health, including suggestions that an eating disorder could be involved.

Kelly has never disclosed having an eating disorder. She has, however, been mourning Ozzy's July 2025 passing, which was acknowledged during the Grammys' In Memoriam segment.

Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, has previously attributed Kelly's slim appearance to grief, explaining last year that the loss had affected her appetite.

Kelly has also consistently denied claims that her weight loss is linked to Ozempic or similar GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs. Addressing the rumours in April 2024, she said:

"I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don't know where that came from."

Furthermore, her changing appearance predates her father's passing. Kelly previously revealed that she lost around 85 pounds following gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, which reduces food intake by removing much of the stomach.

Then, after becoming pregnant in 2022, she shared that doctors warned she was at risk of diabetes if she did not lose the post-pregnancy weight, prompting her to adopt a diet low in carbohydrates and sugar.

Reflecting on that period in 2023, Kelly said, "I was on a mission after having the baby to lose all my baby weight. And then I was like, 'Well, I lost all the baby weight, let's see how far I can go with it.' [I] went a little bit too far, but [I] stopped."

Despite repeatedly stating that she is healthy, Kelly has continued to address public concern, particularly since her father's death. In December, she responded directly to the scrutiny, saying:

"I'm just here to say, what do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now? The fact that I'm getting out of bed and facing my life and trying to be more than enough, I should be commended for that."

While Kelly Osbourne has never indicated that she suffers from an eating disorder, the combination of visible grief and intense public scrutiny has kept concern surrounding her health firmly in the spotlight.
