Eventually, tremors confirmed her fears, which were tied to a family history of Parkinson's, as both her grandmother and uncle had been diagnosed with the condition.

Rebecca finally received the diagnosis in 2015, when a neurologist at USC connected the dots. "I told the doctor, 'I don't receive this,'" she said. "I was determined to fight it."

By 2019, her tremors had worsened significantly. That same year, Rebecca was also diagnosed with breast cancer and later underwent a double mastectomy in 2020. She is now cancer-free.

Over the next 16 years, she quietly battled Parkinson's disease out of public view until one moment changed everything.

Her Path to Recovery

One morning, after three sleepless days, Terry found Rebecca kneeling beside her bed, praying for a miracle. "I hadn't slept in three days... and I felt like I wanted to die," she told the publication.

That same morning, Terry walked in with unexpected news. After researching treatment options for nearly a decade, he had just read about an FDA-approved procedure using sound waves.

"Honey, I really think this will help you," he recalled telling her.

The non-invasive treatment, known as focused ultrasound, marked a turning point. Eight months after that moment last July, Rebecca said the procedure significantly reduced her tremors after undergoing it at Stanford Hospital

For Terry Crews, the journey has been painful to witness but impossible to face alone. "We're going through this together," he said.
