Everyone receives bad news at some point in their lives, and some of those news can be quite devastating, not only for them but also for those around them.

Meghan McCain has learned that the hard way. Her father, John McCain, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor on July 14, 2017, during a procedure to remove a blood clot above his left eye.

The doctors were very straightforward with the Senator, knowing that he would appreciate their honesty. He was given 14 months to live, as reported by Entertainment Daily.

Knowing this, The View co-host vowed to do everything she could to be by her father's side and enjoy the little time that they had left together; that included her wedding.

She and her husband, Ben Domenech, were set to marry some time around spring of 2018, but due to her father's illness, she upped the date to November 21, 2017.

According to the source, the Senator has been receiving support from various sources: family, friends and fans. But none of them have more supportive than his own daughter.

Meghan has been keeping her followers on social media up to date when it comes to the 81-year-old's health, whether it is by posting photos and videos or talking about it in interviews.

She recently took her Instagram account to share a photo of herself next to her father. Although John seemed to smile for the camera, he appeared to be in quite a fragile state.

As reported by Entertainment Daily, under the picture she wrote that there wasn't any place that she would rather be at than right by his side, and several people showed their support by commenting on the photo.

A user named lukyldy said that this world needed more men like him, while tuscanamerican, another user, said that Meghan was a wonderful daughter for being there for the Senator. Riot_93_ concluded by saying that America was lucky for having him as a politician.
