The death of actor playing Mark and how it will be addressed in the 'Roseanne' reboot
Now that Roseanne will be on our screens again, some questions need to be answered about the previous story-line. For instance, Glenn Quinn died in real life but was alive in the last season.
According to Pop Sugar, his wife on the show will be single but his life will be honored at some point. Roseanne will premiere on March 27, 2018.
Roseanne has been off the air for over two decades. Its fans are thrilled that it’s coming back but the writers had quite had their work cut out for them with reconciling the show's controversial ninth season with the upcoming one.
The writers also had to figure out what to do about Mark Healy. Glenn Quinn acted as Becky's boyfriend-turned-husband in the original series but he sadly passed away in 2002 from an accidental drug overdose at the age of 32.
In the original Roseanne, Healy was actually in two different positions. This depends on whether you were referring to "real life" or what Roseanne had supposedly been writing all of those years.
Confusingly, the nine seasons' episodes were revealed in the two-part series finale to actually be Roseanne’s writing. Roseanne tells the audience through a voiceover that Healy is actually married to Darlene.
But she "writes" him as being with Becky because she always thought they were a better couple. The same goes for David and Darlene; David is actually with Becky, but Roseanne writes him with Darlene.
"We all missed Glenn so much, because he was just a great part of the show, and it's not something we wanted to just gloss over."

It was also revealed that Becky and Healy were expecting. But since that was part of Roseanne's creation, it would also appear to be untrue.
It seems that the reboot will basically ignore the entire final season of the original show. When the show returns, David and Darlene would have always been together, though they are now separated.
Becky was always with Healy until he died. The writers felt that they had no other choice than to have Healy deceased in the revival.
"From the writing standpoint . . . when you have a show that's so naturalistic, we had to deal with that and that Becky was going to be single," said executive producer Bruce Helford. He added that they had the greatest affection for Healy.
They wanted to say something about him on the new show and he actually comes up a couple times. Sara Gilbert, who reprises the role of Darlene in the revival, shared that they would pay tribute to Quinn on the show.
It has not been revealed what the writers will say happened to Quinn’s character. But Becky is single when the show picks up and she doesn't have any children.
