'NCIS' new episode spoilers: why Mark Harmon's character becomes emotional

NCIS has garnered many fans over the years it has been on people’s screens. Throughout their 15 seasons, a few situations showed Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ emotional side.

The upcoming episode, titled The Numerical Unit, was one of those. Before getting deeper into the article, it is important to warn the readers that it might contain spoilers.

Inquisitr reported that the previous episode left many viewers craving for more as Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum), and the rest of the team were trapped in their own headquarters.

Now, the newest one addressed a 10-year-old girl who was being chased by a violent gang. Since her parents died years ago and she had nowhere else to go, she was put under the protective custody of Gibbs.

The teaser showed him looking at Elena, the girl whose character is portrayed by Lily Rose Silver, while she was holding a coloring pen. The source pointed out that a different aspect of Gibbs’ personality was shown.

While the entire team was focused on solving the case, Elena and Gibbs spent some quality time together. She made him remember of his wife, Shannon, and daughter, Kelly.

Both of them were killed by a drug dealer a couple of years ago in a car accident. The episode, which was filled with funny moments, also showed a special bond between Elena, Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), and Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham).

Torres tried to communicate with Elena in Spanish as a way to impress the rest of the team. What he didn’t expect was that Bishop was much more fluent in Spanish than him.

Bishop and Torres are expected to get romantically involved to replace Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David’s (Cote de Pablo) romance.

So far, nothing is clear. All that is left to do is wait for the rest of the episodes, that are aired on Tuesdays, and see how their relationship develops.
