Speaking of running, The Rock will not be in the race for president. The actor stated in a May 2018 Rolling Stone cover, that he is flattered by the stories going around of his wish to vie for the American presidency. The famous star says he may not be able to follow the likes of Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Donald Trump. At least not so soon.

Johnson tells RS

“I mean, look, people are very excited, and it’s so flattering that they’re excited. I think it’s also a function of being very unsatisfied with our current president. But this is a skill set that requires years and years of experience. On a local level, on a state level and then on a national level. I have the utmost respect for our country and that position, and I’m not delusional in any way to think, ‘Oh, absolutely, if Trump can do it, I can do it, and I’ll see you in 20-whatever, get ready.’ Not at all.”

The movie performer says he did not vote in 2016, a decision he feels regret for. He believes the election taught Americans a couple of lessons, including that many people now think that anybody can vie for the presidency. Trump shows that not everybody should run to be president. Johnson thinks people need to revert to candidates with deep knowledge of American history and politics, as well as experience, to be able to handle the business of being president. Johnson admits to meeting a few political groups and listening to them, but he reiterates that now cannot be his time.

In other ‘politics,’ Dwayne Johnson spoke about his fairly well-known strife with fellow star, Vin Diesel. He concedes that the two did not actually shoot their scene together, during the Fate of the Furious. They apparently have considerable differences in beliefs and approach to moviemaking and partnership, a discussion they had and agreed to disagree on the subjects. The movie star is uncertain of his presence in the next Furious installment by Universal.
