Naomi Watts shares an emotional photo of the late Heath Ledger while celebrating his 39th birthday
Naomi Watts dated Heathe Ledger for two years from 2002-2004, and last Wednesday, she remembered his ex-lover on what would have been his 39th birthday.
Naomi took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late actor on Instagram, by posting a photo of both of them in the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet last February 2004.
"Happy birthday to this darling heart. We will never forget you... #heathledger #rip"
She posted another photo of them on her Instagram story, saying 'Beautiful Heath.'.
Heath Ledger passed away in January 2008, after an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in his SOHO apartment.
That time, the 'Dark Knight Rises' star was only 28-year-old.
During Heath's 10th death anniversary, Naomi also posted a tribute to the late actor on her Instagram.
Shared with a black-and-white photo of Ledger, she wrote:
"Thinking about this beautiful soul today. 10 years ago he left this world. He was a true original. Heart always on his sleeve, with the most powerful charisma, strength, humor, and talent. I will never forget his gentle spirit. #Heathledger"
In 2011, a year after Ledger's death, she shared with More Magazine:
"We had a beautiful relationship, only a couple of years, but he was a man who was completely full of joy, and there was a lot of laughing and affection. He was really a very special soul and made a great impact on my life."
After the two actors split, the British actress dated Liev Schreiber and proceeded to have two children with him.
