- Ellen revealed the reason she did not invite anybody to her wedding to the American music producer, Chris Ivery in 2007.
- She opened up while talking to American talk show host, Kelly Ripa and said that she really just wanted so much privacy at that point in her life.
Ellen Pompeo is a 48-year-old American actress, director, and producer.
She is one of the highest paid television actresses and got ranked fourth in the list of highest paid TV actresses by Forbes, with earnings of $11.5 million.
Earlier this year, in January, Ellen signed a $20 million annual contract with the American Broadcasting Company.
As an actress, she made her screen debut with NBC's legal drama, 'Law & Order' before she guest-starred in other television shows including ABC's 'Friends'.
However, she might just be most famous for her role in ABC's popular medical drama, 'Grey's Anatomy' and garnered worldwide recognition for her portrayal of the title character Dr. Meredith Grey.
The role on the long-running series earned her a Golden Globe nomination and the Screen Actors Guild Award.
Ellen has starred in numerous other high profile and critically acclaimed movies such as 'Moonlight Mile', 'Catch Me If You Can', 'Daredevil', 'Art Heist' and Marvel's 'Spider-Man 2'
Ten years ago, in 2007, Ellen officially tied the knot with the American music producer, Chris Ivery in a very secret wedding in New York and they did not invite a single person.
Last year, She revealed the reason for her actions on her wedding day.
Ellen revealed that she was really desperate to keep her privacy at that point in her life and just did not want anybody to compromise that.
The wedding took place during the fourth season of Pompeo's hit Grey's Anatomy, which meant she had reached peak-celebrity status.

'We got married here in City Hall and Mayor Bloomberg was our officiator, yeah, it was very cool. It was also very top-secret. At that point, I was really dying for privacy. So we flew out on a red-eye Thursday night. Friday morning, we woke up, went to City Hall, had the wedding really quick, and then we went to a waffle lunch after'
The newlyweds finished off the weekend with a Knicks game before flying home to California.
Today, the couple, Ivery and Ellen have three children together, Stella, Sienna, and Eli.
