The Today correspondent took to social media to remember her grandmother. Jenna Bush Hager shared what her grandmother, Barbara Bush, had meant to her.
In her posts, she confessed that she would miss her grandmother’s laughter among many other things. Barbara Bush passed away on April 17, 2018, according to ET.
Her grandmother was 92 when she passed away on Tuesday. Many people sent through their condolences and honored Barbara with stories.
Hager also posted a throwback Instagram photo of herself with her grandparents, Barbara and George Bush Sr. Part of her caption on the image read, ‘She taught me to use my voice but also to value the opinions of others.’
Hager praised her grandmother’s loyalty and her sense of humor. The journalist and TV personality also revealed that she had been exposed to the love her grandparents had shared.
She shared that Barbara had adored her grandfather. He was the first man she ever kissed and she stated that their love story was ingrained in the history of her family.
‘I already miss this FORCE of a woman -- the ‘enforcer’ because she was the glue that held our family together.’

Hager said at the time that she was certain that her grandfather missed his beloved desperately. She revealed that people often stopped her and told her how much they loved Barbara.
The TV correspondent confessed that she didn’t mind sharing her grandmother with them.
The note ended with Hager stating that she loved the former First Lady very much. Earlier on the same the day, Hager had shared a photo of Barbara standing next to George Sr.’s side as he gave a speech.
She captioned that image by noting that the world and families were better because her grandmother had been in it. A day before Barbara’s death, Hager had appeared on the Today show to give an update on her grandmother.
At the time, she said the former First Lady was the best grandmother anyone could have. She shared that her sister and grandmother had spoken on Sunday night and Barbara had been in great spirits and was a fighter.
Hager called her grandmother an enforcer.
