She wasn't alone, though. Prince Harry, with whom the 36-year-old will marry on May 19, 2018, accompanied his fiancée on Thursday to the event held in central London.

The royal couple showed up very well-dressed, especially Meghan, who caught the attention of the camera by wearing a belted sheath dress from Black Halo, as reported by People.

Boris Johnson, the U.K.'s Foreign Secretary, had the honor of hosting the event, which gathered representatives from charities and organizations that promote global gender equality.

The female education was one of the most discussed topics considering that it is an issue that affects over 130 million young women worldwide. The objective is to guarantee that those children are granted the same opportunities as the opposite gender.

Organizations such as the Malala Fund, the Varkey Found Foundation, Code Camp and Plan international work on a daily basis to make sure that those young girls' voices are heard.

Markle and Harry met some of the groups fighting for the rights of girls to an education and congratulated them for their efforts, saying that what they were doing was 'amazing.'

Peace, a 15-year-old Nigerian girl, had the opportunity to step on stage and deliver a speech regarding the subject and was later approached by Markle, who told her that she managed to impress her.

While at the summit, Prince Harry had the pleasure to meet Kiki James, a champion with the Malala Fund. The 18-year-old appreciated the Prince's interest in the cause and confessed that having his approval meant a lot to them.

Markle, a former actress, advised the young girls to keep on fighting because their words and actions would inspire the next generation, a rippling effect that could only make the cause stronger.
