Chris Pratt opens up and gets candid about his divorce from Anna Faris for the first time

Chris Pratt filed for divorce from his wife Anna Faris in December 1, 2017, despite being legally separated for six months.

It shocked fans around the world when they announced the separation, as they have always been known as a strong, fun-loving, and resilient couple.

On the latest cover story of Entertainment Weekly, Chris finally opened up about the divorce after keeping quiet about it for four months.

The 38-year-old, who shares a son with Anna, confided in the magazine about how he truly felt about the divorce.

"Divorce sucks. But at the end of the day, we've got a great kid who's got two parents who love him very much. And we're finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another."

Understanding that their situation is not ideal, Chris knows that it was for the best.

"It's not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better."

The 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' star was married to Faris for eight years before they decided to call it quits.

Chris and 'The House Bunny' actress legally separated from one another in July 2017, just after he finished filming his movie 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom'.

The ex-couple met in 2007, on the set of their film 'Take Me Home Tonight'. A year after that, they were engaged.

They maried each other in July 9, 2009, in a ceremony in Bali, Indonesia, and after 3 years, welcomed their son Jack in August 2012.

Anna and Chris also confided in Women's Health about their situation, saying that the couple always tries to 'communicate openly', and that there 'aren't any rules to this'.

Ultimately, the goal of both Anna and Chris is to protect Jack.

"I cherish my family, my close friends, my child - that makes the rest worth it."
