Nikki Bella shares an emotional snap of herself by the sea amid her recent split from John Cena
Just days after announcing her split from her fiancé, Nikki Bella returned to Instagram to share a liberating post.
On April 20, Pop Culture revealed Nikki Bella shared a cryptic post alluding to her recent breakaway from her 6-year relationship with John Cena. In the photo she shared, she was wearing a blue dress as she stood with her back to the camera looking out at the ocean.
Quoting from poet E.E. Cummings, Nikki wrote in her caption,
"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me), It's always our self we find in the sea."
The post was an obvious response to her recent break-up with her fiancé who proposed marriage to her during the Wrestle Mania 33 event in April 2017. Their wedding had been scheduled for May this year when the unfortunate news of their split graced Nikki’s Instagram on April 16. The statement read,
"After much contemplation and 6 years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cenaannounced today their decision to separate as a couple. While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives."

Their relationship reportedly crumbled due to their differences in opinion when it came to marriage and having children. According to sources close to the pair, it was Nikki who decided to end their engagement when she realized John hasn’t changed his views on marriage and children.
"When [Cena] proposed, he convinced [Bella] that he was a changed man. And if he can change his mind about never wanting to get married, why wouldn't he change his mind about not wanting kids?
“They have had an on and off relationship for years. It's no secret that they didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things, but, when you're in love, you turn a blind eye. And that's what Nikki did.
"When Nikki changed her stance about wanting kids, everyone knew that wasn't her. You can't take motherhood away from a woman."
Just a month before they parted ways, John was quoted by Us Weekly as saying he couldn’t live without Nikki so he would “cave in on a lot of stuff.” He also admitted they hadn’t seen each other for months due to their busy schedules but they’ve managed to make it work by making the most of the few times they’re together.
Sadly, their efforts were not enough and their split came a month shy of their wedding date.
This weekend, Nikki is expected to appear publicly for the first time since her break-up during the Nirvana Food and Wine Festival in Arizona where she’ll be joined by her twin sister Brie Bella.
Meanwhile, John has been mum after the breakup though he’s shared a few Instagram posts alluding to it. He hasn’t been seen on television too since his loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34 last April 8.
