Prince Charles reacts to arrival of his new grandson with a joke
The birth of the third child of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton is one of the two biggest events involving the British Royal Family this year.
And the wait was finally over on April 23, when Kensington Palace finally announced that Middleton, 36, had given birth to a baby boy. Members of the family expressed their joy and congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11:01 hours. The baby weighs 8lbs., 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth,' read the official announcement.
According to People, William’s father, Prince Charles, welcomed the news of officially becoming the grandfather of three showing a bit of his humorous side releasing a statement on behalf of himself and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
‘We are both so pleased with the news. It is a great joy to have another grandchild, the only trouble is I don’t know how I am going to keep up with them,’ the 69-year-old royal said in the statement issued by Clarence House.
‘The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well,’ Kensington Palace added.
Just seven hours after the baby was delivered in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, he was introduced to the world, with Harry and Middleton appearing in front of the media on the steps of the medical facility.
There were many comments in the news on how impeccable and effortless Middleton looked on her first postpartum public appearance. As People reported, the Duchess’ style team was by her side at the hospital to create her picture-perfect look.
