'She ignored my plea for help,' said Meghan Markle's half-brother Tom
Meghan Markle's half-brother, Tom Markle Jr., is speaking out with some criticism about the future royal.
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement in November, Tom Markle Jr., wrote to congratulate the actress.
According to The Sun, the 51-year-old man knows his half-sister wants nothing to do with him because his recent brushes with the law are embarrassing to her.
'I'm so proud of you, you're awesome. I'm truly sorry that my private life may have caused you embarrassment. I wish you and Harry all the best, you guys look amazing and happy together,' he wrote.
The soon-to-be-royal's brother asked the palace last year for help dealing with false stories about him in the US press.
He and his lawyer have been trying to connect with Markle, but the palace replied his attempts stating that the future royal doesn't know him.
According to Tom, after his lawyer had a phone meeting with hers, they emailed back some of Meghan’s direct words, claiming that she didn't even know him.
"She said, ‘That’s distant family and I don’t know those people.’ That’s pretty harsh," Tom said, also branding the move as "a slap in the face."
Although he admitted they haven't been in touch since Markle moved to Toronto to work in Suits in 2011, he thinks it's "ridiculous" that she thinks of him as a stranger.
According to Daily Mail, the 51-year-old was only 14 and living with his father, Thomas Markle Sr., when Markle was born in 1981.
It's unclear whether Meghan ever received his note, but the advice from his lawyer suggests that she didn't have any interest in him.
