'Voice' winner performed an emotional cover of Miranda Lambert’s song 'Over You'
Cassadee Pope's version of Miranda Lambert's Over You was her most powerful performance of the season.
The 28-year-old auditioned for season 3 of NBC’s hit singing competition, The Voice, and she picked country singer Blake Shelton as her mentor.
On December 18, 2012, she became the first female winner of The Voice.
During the third live round, Blake was surprised when Cassadee performed Miranda's Over You, as reported by Country Music Nation.
Miranda released Over You in 2012 as a part of her album, Four The Record. The song became one of the country singer's massive hits.
Over You is written by both Blake and Miranda. The record reflects Blake's experienced when his older brother died in a car accident.
Cassadee's performance of the song left the crowd in tears. She dedicated her performance to her late grandfather.
The singer was the lead vocalist of the rock band Hey Monday. In early 2012, she began a solo career and released Cassadee Pope EP in May 2012.
On October 8, 2013, she released her solo debut album, Frame by Frame. With 43,000 copies sold in its first week, the album debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums and reached top 10 on Billboard 200.
Cassadee toured with country artists Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley in 2014.
In 2015, she released the lead single, I Am Invincible, from her upcoming second studio album.
On July 24, 2016, before the Brickyard 400 NASCAR race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Cassadee sang the Star Spangled Banner.
She also sang the United States national anthem on October 16, 2016, before the Houston Texans and Colts game.
Cassadee parted ways with BMLG records in May 2017 and signed with Fusion Music in January 2018.
Her influences include Natalie Imbruglia, Shania, Michelle Branch, Avril, Blink 182, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift.
According to People, Cassadee is currently dating Nashville star Sam Palladio. The couple has been spotted around Music City last month.
