Ellen DeGeneres' wife Portia shows off her slender body working out with her 3 dogs (video)
Former actress Portia De Rossi regularly shares fitness videos and advice with her followers. Even Ellen DeGeneres, her wife, sees her as a fitness inspiration.
The 45-year-old star is most famously known for her portrayal of Nelle Porter in Ally McBeal, and as Lindsay Bluth Funke in Arrested Development.
On April 26, 2018, she shared a short video clip with her 990,000 Instagram followers that not only inspired her fans but also amused them.
In the video, De Rossi can be seen trying to do sit-ups, but her playful pooches didn't want to miss out on the action. They were jumping and playing on her for the entire duration of the video.
A voice in the background can be heard saying: "It's an extra workout for your core." Not one to be sidetracked from her workout session, De Rossi continues despite the distraction.
In the caption, she simply wrote 'not helping.' The video has been viewed more than 250,000 times in the short period it's been online.
De Rossi published her memoir, Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain, in 2011. She used the book as an outlet to discuss her battles with eating disorders.
As reported by Daily Mail, she battled bulimia and anorexia during her teenage years, and again while she was filming Ally McBeal in the late nineties.
In an attempt to lose weight, De Rossi would starve herself and take up to 20 laxatives a day. At one point, her weight dropped below 40 kilograms.
She was finally able to overcome her battles when she met Degeneres in 2004. She began to take better care of her health, and also found 'acceptance within herself.'
In 2017, with 36 acting credits and a career spanning more than 20 years, De Rossi announced that she is ready to retire from acting and pursue other passions, Hello Giggles reported.
De Rossi is now the founder and owner of General Public, an 'art curation and publishing company.'
