Joy-Anna Duggar rocks daring floral dress and heels in a new photo with hubby
She is just the latest member of the family to rebel against the ultra-strict dress code rules her parents set for her and her sisters.
Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth has taken a leaf out of her older sisters' books in a recent photo that sees her wearing both a short - by Duggar standards - dress, and a pair of heels.
In the image shared to her joint Instagram account with her husband Austin Forsyth, Joy-Anna is wearing a knee-length navy blue dress with a peach-colored floral pattern.
She is also wearing a pair of tan-colored wedge heels. In the photo, she and Austin are holding their young son, Gideon.
The image was shared as a Mother's Day tribute to Joy-Anna.
"Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely bride! She never has ceased to amaze me with her character and love for our Savior!" reads the caption.
The post was quickly popular among the couple's followers with over 110,000 likes.
Plenty also commented on Joy-Anna's short dress, complimenting her on how she looks in the garment.
The family is well known for their strict dresscode, and Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar always dressed their daughters in long skirts, high necklines, sleeves, and flat shoes.
But recently more and more of their older daughters are breaking away from these rules. Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo was seen wearing a pair of black jeans to the airport to fetch friends in a preview of Counting On, their reality show.
The one that has caused the most shock though, is Jill (Duggar) Dillard, who shared a photo to Instagram in November which showed off a stud piercing in her nose.
In their 2014 book Growing Up Duggar, Joy-Anna's sisters, Jessa, Jana, Jill and Jinger, explained their conservative dress.
"We do not dress modestly because we are ashamed of the body God has given us; quite the contrary. We realize that our body is a gift from God and that He intends for it to be shared only with our future husband," they wrote.
