According to the death certificate released by The Sun on August 5, the rock legend died of "acute myocardial infarction" and "out of hospital cardiac arrest." Coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease were also listed as contributing factors in his death.

In the section called "Occupation and usual Address," Ozzy was referred to as "rock legend, songwriter and performer," as well as "husband of Sharon Rachel OSBOURNE Music Artist Manager [sic]."

The news of the icon's passing was announced on Instagram by his wife and his children, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis Osbourne.

This was only weeks after performing his farewell show "Back to the Beginning" with the original members of Black Sabbath at the Villa Park stadium in Birmingham. It was the first — now last — time they had played together in 20 years.

Following his death, Ozzy Osbourne was officially laid to rest on July 31 near the lake at his house in Buckinghamshire, after a massive memorial event in Birmingham the previous day.

His grieving family attended the service on July 30, with Sharon appearing especially emotional. As previously reported, she walked slowly while clinging to the arms of her children, Jack and Kelly. The TV personality was dressed in black, and her face was filled with grief as they all mourned together.
