Lady Di’s older sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, read a passage from the Song of Solomon in representation of Prince Harry’s maternal side, bringing back emotional memories of the late princess.

Although Prince Harry was just 12-years-old when Princess Diana tragically passed away in 1997, he always remained close to his mother’s side of the family, and he made sure that they played a visible role in his wedding to Meghan Markle.

Lady Jane, who as Town and Country reported, was the one who introduced Diana to Prince Charles, has been mostly out of the spotlight since her sister died in a car crash in Paris and she read a poem during the funeral service.

Harry’s aunt gave the only reading at Harry and Markle’s wedding, according to Telegraph. ‘The winter is past, the rain is over and gone... Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it,’ she said.

She attended the ceremony accompanied by siblings Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer. Lady Jane wore a mint floral coat dress, adding a wide black hat to the ensemble.

Lady Jane’s participation in the wedding was announced earlier in the month in a statement issued by Kensington Palace

‘Prince Harry is also keen to involve his mother's family in his wedding. All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading,’ it read.

The official statement added that the marrying couple was honored to have Lady Jane playing the key role as a way to celebrate the memory of Diana on the special occasion.

Lady Diana’s siblings had met Meghan prior to her engagement with Harry, as the former Suits star confirmed during a CNN interview on November 2017.

‘I think in being able to meet his aunts and - and also like Julia [Samuel] and just different people who were so important to his mum, I'm able to, in some way, know a part of her through them and of course through him,’ Markle said at the time.
