Remember Tabitha from 'Bewitched'? She's all grown up and looks unrecognizable
Erin Murphy is one of the most famous child stars, having appeared in over a hundred commercials and starred in the famous sitcom, Bewitched.
Now, she is 53 years old and looks very different as shown by her photos on her Instagram profile.
Murphy was only two years old when she was cast as Tabitha Stephens in the 60’s show in its third season.
She took turns with her fraternal twin sister, Diana, to play the role. While Diane did not seem too fond of acting and always cried on set, Murphy was the exact opposite. She loved the spotlight.
For six seasons, she spent most of her childhood on the show until it was finally time to say goodbye in 1972.
It took Murphy a year to land another job, a guest-starring role Lassie, a popular family show.
Murphy became the face of many commercials – more than a hundred – over the years after an agency signed her as a model.
It seemed, at the time, that Murphy’s career was on a fast train moving forward. Although, all of a sudden, she disappeared from the limelight.
As it turned out, Murphy and her family left Los Angeles and moved to Orange County. It was there where she was able to live a normal life.
She attended El Toro High School where she became a cheerleader and the Homecoming Queen.
Talking to ABC News, Murphy recalled, "I think I kind of had the best of both worlds.”
During that point in her life, Murphy no longer had any intention to return to the industry.
Her personal life was complex, particularly her love life. Murphy married three times. She had two children during her first marriage and one more during her second.
Fortunately, her last marriage proved to be the best one since she and her husband, Darren, had been together since 1998. Together, they share three sons.
Murphy has six children all in all.
During the early 2000’s, Murphy had booked some acting gigs and made a quick, although not permanent, comeback.
She appeared as host and correspondent for networks such as E! and Fox Reality Channel.
She also had an appearance on shows like Youthful Daze and I Know My Kid’s a Star.
Eventually, Murphy opted to step away from the spotlight once again and focused on writing for beauty, fashion, and lifestyle magazines. She also focused on her philanthropic work.
Murphy took an interest in motivational speaking and focused on spreading awareness about autism.
Trying out her luck in the fashion industry, Murphy started her own company, Erin Murphy Knits.
She provides eco-friendly, hand-knit clothing pieces, which she had made with fur from her own alpacas.
Just last year, Murphy was seen on the screen again when she appeared in a TV movie entitled Life Interrupted, alongside other former child stars. The project went on to win several major awards.
Murphy’s latest project was in October 2017, a short film called I Might Be Famous.
