Vanity Fair: Prince Harry and ex Chelsy had emotional phone call before wedding
As a Royal, Prince Harry knows a lot of people and even though his wedding has come and gone, many were left sore because they were snubbed for the event. Some couldn’t understand why they were invited to the ceremony and not the party.
Vanity Fair reported that the Prince actually invited his exes to his wedding because he thought it was the right thing to do. Despite this, none of them were invited to his evening party even though one had spoken to him over the phone.
Violet von Westenholz was one of those lucky enough to be invited to the Royal wedding and afternoon reception at Windsor Castle. However, she wasn’t at the evening party.
Von Westenholz was the one who gave Harry Meghan’s number after she had suggested that they meet. It’s thought that maybe she couldn’t make it to the party because she could’ve been double-booked.
She was seen at the wedding of Harry’s old friend, Ed Watson, who was marrying Cara-Louise Pratt later on that same evening. The Prince also invited his exes as a polite thing to do
Despite this, neither Chelsy Davy nor Cressida Bonas got a golden ticket to the party. According to a family friend, Davy was there but didn’t get an invite to the party.
She had tearfully spoken to Harry in a phone call last week. It was said that it was their final parting call where they both acknowledged that Harry was moving on.
Davy was quite emotional about it all and almost didn’t go to the wedding. In the end, she went and promised him that she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the party.
Prince Harry’s old party friend, Natalie Pinkham, didn’t get an invite for the event. Harry has known the Sky Sports presenter for more than 10 years and they regularly stayed in touch.
A source who knows them both shared that Pinkham was a bit surprised by the snub. “She and Harry still talk so it was a surprise for her not to be invited at all,” the insider added.
One of the Prince’s oldest friends, Astrid Harbord, also got no invite for the party. She actually has a reputation for being a party girl.
Another person who didn’t make the cut was Harry’s old army friend, James Blunt, and his wife, Sofia Wellesley. They were also left off the elite evening guest list.
“Some of Harry’s pals were a bit surprised not to get the golden ticket to the evening party,” said a society friend. The friend shared that there was actually another wedding that weekend that a lot of them were invited to.
So, either way, they got to have fun regardless.
