'Salt-n-Pepa's Sandra Denton revealed why she refused to date Will Smith
Salt-n-Pepa's Sandra Denton revealed how she regrets not dating Will Smith when she had the chance. Reminiscing at her past, Pepa brought up the time she was talking to the rapper-turned-actor and how she almost dated him.
Looking back at her past in an interview with GlobalGrind, the former rapper shares what it was like to be close to Will.
“I thought Will was really cute and we would hang out a lot on the road. He liked to take care of me and never let me spend a dime. He was that kind of guy, real generous. I remember when they won their first award, he asked me to go out with him afterward. He was so excited. We were walking along the street getting ready to grab something to eat, and he just gave this homeless guy $100 dollars…I sometimes kick myself when I think about what could have been."
Like most women, the "tough guy" seemed more appealing than as opposed to the "good guy".
"I liked people like Louis Burrell (MC Hammer’s brother). He was rough, he was street and he didn’t pull any punches. He would walk around with a cane and pimp hat. He always referred to women as b**ches. Even with all that, I liked him."
In August 2008, Denton released her autobiography "Let's Talk About Pep" where she gave a glimpse of her life in and out of the spotlight, her family, failures, and accompllishments that came during her peak as an entertainer. In her book, she speaks about her relationships and dealing with failed marriages, trying to escape from domestic abuse.
While no factual names were used in the book, pseudonyms made it easy for people to read between the lines and make their own judgement on who these stories were actually referring to.
