'Chicago Fire' star's exit from the show is confirmed
One of the fan-favorite stars announced her departure from the popular show with an emotional message.
Monica Raymund, one of the stars of Chicago Fire, took to Twitter on May 15 to confirm that she was making her exit from the show.
Raymund shared a snapshot of a note, in which she wrote the big announcement as well as her farewell message and a hint of her future endeavors.
The actress remained a regular in the firefighter drama for six seasons playing the character of Paramedic in Charge or Firefighter Candidate, Gabriela 'Gabby' Dawson.
She wrote about her character in her note and stated that it was an honor for her to be able to portray the brave role.
The actress admitted that bringing the character of Dawson to life on screen was "one of the most meaningful experiences" of her life.
She further stated that playing the role of a fierce paramedic and working with a talented bunch of cast and crew was something she would always remain proud of.
'I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it's time for me to move on to the next chapter in life,' she wrote in the note she shared on social media.
Toward the very end of her farewell letter, she wrote that it was time for her to move 'on to the next' and concluded by writing, 'See you on the ice.'
With her final words, the star probably hinted that whatever her next project was, it had something to do with 'on the ice.'
Fans were obviously sad to know that one of their favorite stars would be leaving the show. Several Twitter users, such as Nicole, commented to express their sadness and to wish Raymund the best for their future.
